Melanie has directed 17 theatrical productions at FCA, and co-directed over a dozen Coffeehouse productions. She also serves as FCA's Director of Student Life. She has always loved theatre & music, performing in and assistant- directing for numerous shows at the acclaimed Stratford Playhouse in Houston, TX. In 1999, she received the regional Best Actress award in the state of Texas one-act play competition for her performance in "The Diary of Anne Frank." She attended Abilene Christian University where she participated as a performer and also a director and stage manager in multiple university-wide "Sing Song!" productions. She is part of a music industry family and has a deep appreciation for music and dance of all kinds. When she is not at FCA, Melanie loves spending time with her two sons & her husband Ryan, watching them play sports, cooking, trying new restaurants, and going to concerts or theatre performances. Melanie considers it a privilege and undeserved honor to work with such talented, hard-working and Christ-like people on this team.
Choreographer
Jennifer Jackson
Jennifer choreographed the "Canned Heat" and "N'Sync" dance numbers in tonight's show. Jenn has choreographed 7 theatrical productions with FCA so far. Melanie Sutton’s original FCA musical “Brand New Day” didn’t see the stage in 2020-21 season, but it stands out to Jenn as a favorite rehearsal process. Jenn enjoyed a 10 year career with Walt Disney World Entertainment where she served as an Equity performer and a Staging Specialist in Orlando, FL, and opening cast member for Tokyo Disney Seas in Japan. Jenn’s first love of choreography began in her hometown where she served as Assistant Director for Honolulu Dance Co., before performing and producing events for the NBA, NFL, NASCAR, and corporate events. Jenn and her husband Matt started a live production special FX company (E1FX) shortly after moving to Franklin in 2007. Jenn serves on the board for Good Seeds Entertainment, a non-profit seeking to amplify hope through music and media. Jenn and her family enjoy caring for horses, learning to run a mini-farm, and sneaking off to Smith Lake.
