Fort Lee High School’s International Thespian Society and Academy of Theatre Arts will be performing the musical In the Center of the Giant Multicolored Construction Paper Daisy written by Fort Lee Alumnus and educator, Mr. Eldric Etra. It’s Astrid’s 18th birthday, and she is no longer a kid. As she reflects upon moments in her life that seemingly broke her soul, she attempts to rewrite her truth, rewrite her life, and rewrite her musical. She remembers that as a kid she saw the world in multicolored vibrance, but as she has gotten older the colors have started to fade. She used to make these paper daisies with petals of Orange (Tuscan Sun Daffodil Canary), Pink (Iridescent Fantasyland Princess Pink), Lavender (Lavender Mist), and Periwinkle (Periwinkle Butterfly Kisses) but as she grows up and discovers the challenges of loneliness, mental illness, losing a first love, and losing a best friend her petals begin to fall.
