A Brilliant Light is a Holliday tale expressed through the Art of the Circus!  With Aerial Aerobics, Dance, Theater and Magic, A Brilliant Light will delight audiences of all ages!

Our story begins many years ago, in a village near a dense forest, across a great sea. Leaving his two beloved young daughters Margo and Danielle in the care of their grandmother, Frederic DuBois, the village’s kindly and joyful clockmaker, embarks upon a merchant ship, sailing across the Black Sea to meet with other master clockmakers. Mysteriously however, his ship disappears, never reaches the port, and Frederic is never heard from again. After 10 long years his daughters, Margot and Danielle, now 14 and 16 years old, still pray passionately for their father’s safe return.

One fateful night, the last night of the year, it is unusually cold and dark. Margot is alone, waiting for Danielle to return from visiting their grandmother. The dark stormy sky threatens to blanket the land in snow and glaze the forest with icy frost. Margo sits near the fireplace inside the girls’ modest farmhouse. Suddenly a gust of wind blows down the chimney spreading hot embers onto the straw floor, and ignites the wooden room ablaze!  Margot escapes and goes to find help.

When Danielle returns, a day later, she finds no sign of Margot. Leaving her farmhouse in ruins, Danielle hurries off on a journey to find her sister.  Frantically she travels over the mountain pass and into the next village, where she comes upon a festive Winter Holiday Marketplace, with open-air booths. At the end of the cobblestone street she spots the colorful lights of an enchanted Toy Shoppe glowing behind a hazy glass window.

Wheeling Jesters see Danielle standing outside and invite her to join them in their realm. Entranced, Danielle rolls around with them in merriment! Inside, she meets a Deck of Cards and the shimmering Rag Dolls. Harlequin Dolls whirl high above her head!  There are also
wooden Marionettes, a Ballerina Doll, regimented Toy Soldiers and an unruly Jack-in-the-Box!  Then she sees the newest invention in the Shoppe, The Machines!  These lively dolls from the future are the Toy Maker’s newest invention, however they were not finished. The Jesters know better than to let them loose, but they start the pendulum in each, and The Machines leap to life!  When The Machines spin out of control, Danielle suddenly breaks from her trance and runs out of the Shoppe!

Racing to the end of the paved road, she peers into the dark space and sees the vaulted arches of the Cathedral.  As she enters the Churchyard she stares at the sculpted statues, Angels of Grief, and the guardian of the graves. An Angel guide appears and reminds her that her family needs her more than ever, so she mustn't give up!

Bravely, Danielle enters the tangled forest as the snow begins to fall.  The storm starts as delicate flurries, then the wind blows creating deep drifts. Icicles form as the blizzard brings frost upon the land.  

After what seems like hours, the darkness is broken and the storm retreats behind the mountain. The moonlight shines a brilliant beam of light through the trees and a clear path is illuminated. In the next village, she makes her way to the grounds of a grand mansion. It is in this mansion that Danielle finds her life's greatest surprise!

When darkness and light are able to stand side by side, there is magic, indeed!
