Lucky Stiff Cast
Stephen Bauers (Harry Witherspoon)Stephen Bauers is a 5th year math teacher at Coronado High School where he also helps with the theatre department where he just finished directing a production of Alice in Wonderland. He is so happy to be a part of his fifth production with First Company. Previous credits include: The Secret Garden (Dickon), Once Upon a Musical, She Loves Me (Georg/Koday u/s), and The Velveteen Rabbit. Last summer, he directed/self-produced the premier production for Untitled Theatre Company of [title of show]. Catch him later this year directing A Christmas Carol: A Live Radio Play for First Company. He would like to thank the entire cast, crew, and creatives for their trust in him with this show, Aly, Wren, and Tara, as well as his family for always supporting his passions. Enjoy the show!
Aly Cottrell (Annabell Glick)Aly is excited to be taking the stage at First Company again as Annabel Glick. Her favorite roles include Ilona (She Loves Me), Glinda (The Wizard of Oz), Heidi (Title of Show) and Spider (James and the Giant Peach). She is so thankful for the cast for supporting her through this show, and extra love to Jane and Wren for helping her to grow. She sends all her love to her friends, family, Tara and Theo.
Nora Faircloth (Rita La Porta (Mar 7-9))Nora is tickled to add "crazy lady with a gun" to her resume and has been delighted to perform with First Company for the first time in Lucky Stiff! She played the Wicked Witch in The Wizard of Oz last fall, so clearly she has a thing for antagonistic women. When she's not being a pest on stage she is holding down operations at Faircloth Manor, volunteering her time and talent somewhere in the Springs, or reading a book. She finds great joy in her family and friends and is grateful for their support of her dramatic ways. Thank you Jesus for the chance to create art in this world!
Matt Gargett (Vinnie Diruzzio)Matt is delighted to make his First Company debut in Lucky Stiff! Huge thanks to Jane and Brennan for their endless support—and for not rolling their eyes every time he mentions “rehearsal.” He’s especially grateful to the director (and his amazing wife!) for believing he could still bring some laughs to the stage after all these years. Having previously played her husband, he’s now thoroughly entertained stepping into the role of her much more straight-laced brother, Vinnie the optometrist. Let’s just say, he’s seeing things much more clearly now!
Jane Gargett (Rita La Porta (Mar 14-16))Jane is so excited to be directing again at First Company & taking on one of her dream roles at the same time! Previous credits: Peter and the Starcatcher; Middle School Brain; Best Christmas Pageant Ever; A Charlie Brown Christmas; Broadway by the Decade - The 1990s; Children of Eden; Pinocchio; & Alice in Wonderland Jr. Favorite past roles: Ida (HONK!); Lucy (YAGMB); Little Red Riding Hood (ITW); & Narrator (Joseph). All my love to Matt & B!
Nathan Woodroof (Luigi Gaudi)Nate Woodroof is excited to be working with First Company again to sing and dance in this zany production! Favorite past roles include Robert in The Play that Goes Wrong (First Company), Freddie in "It's A Wonderful Life: Radio Play Version" (First Company), Lancelot in Spamalot (Funky Little Theater), Jack/Ernest in the Importance of Being Earnest, and Fagin in Oliver! (Village Arts). When he is not working in the theatre, Nate enjoys delighting (occasionally reluctant) high schoolers with his math knowledge.
Chaelin Aurand (Dominique du Monaco)Chaelin Aurand is a 22 year old musician, actress, and dancer. She is a senior physiology student at the University of Colorado Colorado Springs. This is her second show with First Company with her all time favorite credits including Prentiss in Peter and the Starcatcher, Oliver Twist in Oliver!, and Martha from Hedda Gabbler. Huge thank you to her parents, Carmen and Carlos, for their undying support.
Wayne Heilman (The Body Of Tony Hendon)Wayne Heilman is appearing in his eighth First Company production, which include a mix of musicals, melodramas and dramas. He has served as a board member of First Company since 2018, including five years as chair but also has been involved in set construction and serving as house manager for many productions. Professionally, Wayne has been a freelance writer for The Gazette and Colorado Media Group after retiring in 2022 from a 40-year career as a business writer and editor with The Gazette. This role might be the most challenging for him because he doesn’t have any lines and must remain perfectly still.
Jack Reynolds (Man 1 - Surly Lorry Driver, Solicitor, Prosperous Man on Train, Clothing Salesman, French Emcee, Croupier, Leper, Old Texan)Jack Reynolds is excited to make his First Company debut with this production. Previous roles include Hunter in Title of Show, Bob Cratchit in VHS Christmas Carol and Chris in Straight. He is thankful to his family, friends, and Paddington for their support!
Callie Rae McCarthy (Woman 1 - Landlady, Miss Thorsby the Secretary, Ophthalmic Nurse, Southern Lady #1, French Airline Voice, Dancing Portrait, Drunken Maid)Callie Rae is thrilled to be a part of this amazing production. Previous favorite roles include Eliza Doolittle (My Fair Lady), Evelyn Nesbit (Ragtime), Lady Larken (Once Upon a Mattress), Woman 1 (Songs for a New World), and Serena Katz (Fame). Love to Brendan, the kids, my parents, and the Mom Squad.
Josh Warrum (Man 2 - Offstage Telegram Deliverer, Vicious Punk, Mr. Loomis the Eye Patient, French Waiter on Train, Stationmaster's Voice, Bellhop #1, French Waiter in Club, Dapper Gambler, Nun)Joshua Warrum could not be happier to be in his second First Company production.
He previously has portrayed roles such as Arpad in She Loves Me, Barnaby in Hello Dolly, and Curly in Oklahoma. He would like to thank his friends and family for always supporting him and making theater fun!
Alaina Stroble (Woman 2 - Spinster, Southern Lady #2, Dancing Roulette Wheel, Nightclub dancer, Bellhop #2, Featured Nightmare dancer)Alaina loves ballet, kpop, Dwayne Johnson, choreographing, teaching, doing theater with her friends and usually getting no sleep because she gets involved in multiple shows. Her BFA in Musical Theater and Dance and experience in over 35 productions over the last 6 years are mostly used to indoctrinate corruptible youths by introducing them to Jazz.
