Producer
Camilla Ross
President and Chairman of Emerson Theater Collaborative and Sedona Arts Academy in Sedona AZ To thine own self be true—Camilla Ross’s resourceful, versatile life is a testament to this ideal. Passionate, loving and giving, she’s led and gathered a host of loyal students, colleagues and champions throughout her life to achieve great works, and empower the spirits and well-being of others. “To be a catalyst for social change is really where it’s at for me,” Camilla said. “I believe theater should always be a venue for social change. I love the art of live theater and love what it does to the human soul and spirit. It moves us to look at life differently. To leave off the rose colored glasses and really see the human condition.” ETC is a shining example. Founded in 2008 to give voice to actors’ innate talent for character development, Camilla has since produced more than 20 inspired, original performances. Emerging and professional cast and crew have blossomed under her guidance. And together they’ve created profound, can’t-ever-forget shows that illuminate social issues, and transform audience curiosity into concern and action. The art of performing is also ingrained in Camilla’s soul. “God gave me the gift when I was born, I just discovered its worth as I got older,” she added. Camilla has a deep well of experience and mentorship to tap into for her ETC roles—from her days at Emerson College, and then in regional theaters and commercials. Among her favorite portrayals? Capturing the heart, spark and essence of Harriet Tubman in the one-woman show Harriet Tubman’s Dream.

Photographer
Larry Kane
Larry began shooting professionally when he was about 15. He shot weddings and most any kind of parties. In high school, he taught the photography class when the regular instructor had a conflict. During this time his images won many awards. While in college, he worked every weekend and it was common for him to return to school Sunday night in his tuxedo. Larry is also the retired (August 1998) Chairman of the Board, Chief Executive Officer, and founder of Alternative Resources Corporation (ARC). ARC is a leading provider of information technology (IT) services. Started in early 1988, ARC was based in Lincolnshire, Illinois, with sixty offices across the U.S. and Canada (at the end of 1998). ARC is an information technology (IT) management services organization that provides technical solutions, including component outsourcing (Smartsourcing®) and project-based resources for information technology operations and application support development to Fortune 1000 companies. Larry is a 1962 graduate of Illinois Institute of Technology (IIT) in Chicago with a bachelor’s degree in metallurgical engineering. Early in his career, he worked in rocket technology on NASA-sponsored research. There are not too many photographers who can claim to be a rocket scientist! Further, Larry also received a master’s degree in business administration from the University of Chicago in 1981. He has more than thirty-five years of experience in IT and business management, and more than a half century of photography experience. Larry’s photography adventures have led him and his wife, Fern, on photo expeditions from the American Southwest to the Serengeti, in Africa. If you ask him for a business card, more often than not, you will receive the one that reads “Photographer,” not the one that reads, “Executive”. Since retirement from day-to-day business he has focused his photography on making portraits of both people and animals. A portrait session creating wonderful but different photographs has become his trademark. Recently, he has had a portrait exhibit at the Sedona Public Library, a three month “Faces of Israel” exhibit at Temple Solel in Paradise Valley, AZ, two months exhibit in Flagstaff AZ, and a three month exhibit of Northern Arizona Landscapes. Also, Larry has been a guest photographic lecturer at UCLA focusing on environmental street portraits. Most of his photography time is spent making portraits of animals, from seals along the California coast to the large cats on the Serengeti. Most all are made in the wild. His animal image collection is extensive. Since moving to Sedona (full-time) in 2013, he has added landscapes to his photographic efforts. Currently, Larry photographs for Red Earth Theater and the HUB in Sedona, and Rainbow Acres in Camp Verde. All keep him busy shooting portraits and promotional images. Larry continues to make award winning images and his work is displayed regularly. One of his award winning pictures won 2nd place in the United Airlines annual photographic contest; the image is at daybreak in the Sahara desert. Larry has a permanent display of his images in the Aloha Theater in Kona Hawaii. These are portraits of cast members from productions over the last 17 years.
