About The Crucible
The Crucible is Arthur Miller's 1953 classic set in the Puritan colony of Salem, Massachusetts during the 1692 witch trials that became forever associated with that colony. Rev. Parris is devastated to find his own daughter and niece dancing in the forest with his slave Tituba and a handful of other girls. When they are caught, some of the girls faint and enter a trance-like state. The fear of witchcraft seems to overwhelm the colony at the start, and when the girls begin to accuse the adults of the town of witch craft no one is safe from suspicion. Rated PG-13
Eau Gallie High School Theater Company
Eau Gallie High School is located in beautiful Melbourne, FL. The current campus saw its first graduating class in 1964, and our theater department dates back nearly that far. The Eau Gallie Theatre Company operates as part of our Fine Arts Academy. We operate as a self-funded community theatre and our students are involved in every aspect of the production. Our technical theatre students build sets, create props, and run the show from audio and lights, to rigging and stage crew. The faces you see on stage are students from 9th-12th grade. They spend 8-10 weeks in rehearsal for the shows presented on our mainstage. You can learn more about the talented kids in our program by clicking on the cast and creative tabs at the top of the production page.
