The Holiday classic for children of ALL ages! Presented  by the Ballet Theatre of Dover.
A beloved tale for all ages, The Nutcracker has been an annual Holiday classic. Many versions have been created, all focusing on a young girl, her Nutcracker doll, and the magnificent journey she takes to the Kingdom of the Sweets. OPEN SEATING!

THE STORY: One Christmas Eve, a young girl receives a Nutcracker doll that nobody wanted because of its ugliness. At midnight, Clara defends her Nutcracker doll against an army of rats. With the death of the at King, Clara breaks the spell and a young prince stands before her . She has broken the spell that kept him in the body of an ugly doll. She risked her life to save him. A mark of TRUE Love.

In gratitude, he takes her on a journey to the Kingdom of Sweets.... through the Land of Snow. At the Kingdom of Sweets, they are greeted by the CandyCanes, the Gingerbread House (BonBons, Gumdrops, Ribbon Fairy, Gingerbreads, a frazzled Chef), characters from Spain (Chocolate), Arabia (Coffee), China (Chinese), Marzipans, and a whole meadow of wildflowers, who celebrate the return of their Prince and the girl who saved him.

Clara dances with the Prince and the characters of the Kingdom.

At the end, Clara wakes up in her chair in the drawing room. Was it all a DREAM? Or a glimpse into her FUTURE?

Children and Parents are invited to DRESS UP as your favorite character from the Nutcracker. 

Petit Fours, Pastries, Sweets and Tea will be served. Nutcracker -themed activities.

Nutcracker characters will join you at the Tea.

Our Beginner, Intermediate and Apprentice Programs are committed to use Dance to nurture life skills in our young students–creative thinking, commitment, patience, teamwork,dedication to excellence, and to learn and love the skills of the art of DANCE.

Our Apprentice & Pre–Professional Program are designed for students who have shown a commitment to the training hours needed towards a career–pathway in Dance. The Dance Conservatory offers a Classical Ballet based program with supplementary classes in numerous other dance styles and affiliated arts including Jazz, Modern, Tap, and Musical Theatre.

Repertory, Performance, and Company classes are designed to challenge students to apply
technical aptitude and stylistic awareness to the demands of the classical ballet, modern dance
and other dance styles’s skills and repertoire . Our company, Ballet Theatre of Dover (BTD), is
made up of select students of the school and offers these dancers invaluable performance
opportunities.
