Newsies Cast

Briar is a freshman at Coronado and is overjoyed to return to the CTD for her second production! She is so happy to be playing Crutchie Morris in Coronado’s production of Newsies, and adores playing him very much! She would like to thank her lovely friends, family and of course her incredible cast-mates for being so supportive and loving towards her and each other. Briar hopes you all enjoy this production of Newsies as much as she has!

Lillian is a junior and is thrilled to be playing Katherine in the CTD’s production of Newsies! This is her third show at Coronado, having previously been in Chicago and The Wizard of Oz. She thanks her wonderful vocal coaches for helping her with the music, her friends, her family, and her sister for making this production such an amazing experience. If Lillian is not on the stage, you can find her drawing, painting or singing in a choir.

Noah is a freshman that attends Coronado and is thrilled to perform in Newsies. This is his second time performing in Newsies. In a previous production, he played Les, but now he gets to play his older brother which is incredible! He is very excited to show you all how he portrays Davey.

Cason is excited to be part of Newsies at Coronado High School. He attends Ute Pass Elementary in Cascade, Colorado, where he participates in the sixth-grade program and enjoys about 30 field trips each year, including ice fishing, rafting, hiking, and backpacking. He also has a passion for playing baseball. Cason gets to work with Mr. Ian Ferguson, Coronado’s choir director and Cason’s former band teacher, who has worked with him since kindergarten. Cason thanks his family and friends for their support and hopes you enjoy the show.

Johnell is a sophomore Coronado High School. This is his ninth production and his second production with the CTD. He is grateful and excited for his first supporting lead role in Newsies. He has been over the moon about performing with his castmates from the previous production. He wants to shout out his family for supporting him through this show along with his friends and directors as well.

Kyla Johnston is a senior and is excited to be a part of her 5th main stage: Newsies! Kyla has been a part of 4 productions in the past at Coronado: Wizard of Oz, Chicago, Animal Farm, and most recently played Elaine Harper in Arsenic and Old Lace. She is proud to show off what everyone in the cast has been working so hard to create. She is looking forward to graduating and doing community choir in college. She will attend Mesa Colorado University in the fall. Her dedication to theatre is made possible by the support and love of her parents, and her best friend Marissa. She thanks all of you for coming to support the CTD and hopes you continue to!

Savannah is beyond excited to perform in Newsies as her first show at Coronado! Now a junior, she’s had an amazing time working with this talented cast to bring the story to life. She’s so grateful for her family and friends who constantly support her. She hopes you love the show!

Alayzha is a senior and is so excited to be part of Newsies as Jojo and a Bowery Beauty. She loves performing and being involved in school activities. When she’s not on stage, she enjoys spending time with friends, listening to music, and making memories during her final year. Alayzha is grateful to her castmates, directors, friends, and family for their constant love and support. She hopes you enjoy the show!

Jade is a freshman at Coronado High School. Newsies will be their 7th production, and the first one where they’ve gotten to train with a professional choreographer. They’re very excited to overcome the challenges presented by this musical and making them a stronger performer. Aside from theatre, they also build drones, play games, and learn American Sign Language. They want to tell their older friends and family how grateful they are for supporting them.

Uriel is a junior and has performed in three previous productions at the CTD and three musicals outside of school. She also helped the costume team in prior CTD productions, and is a part of the thespian society. She can’t wait to dance her shoes off in Newsies and is excited for the new era of the CTD!

Abigail is a hardworking freshman at Coronado. Newsies is her second performance, and she's learned so much and made tons of new friends. She's very excited to be a part of the CTD! In the fall, Abby participated in flag football. Abby is extremely glad that she's had the opportunity to be a part of this incredible performance! She’d like to thank her family, friends, and cast mates for supporting her.
