Newsies Jr. Cast

AJ Mackensen (Jack Kelley)
AJ is very excited to be a part of this show. It’s been his dream to be in Newsies as Jack Kelly since he was 7 years old and that dream has finally come true! AJ has been doing theatre since his freshman year in high school in 2020. The first show being PUFFS! where he played Oliver Rivers.
Isabella Stehly (Davey)
Isabella Stehly is a rising senior playing Davey in our summer musical Newsies. Some of her past roles include young Anna, Flounder, and Little Becky Two Shoes. Thanks to the directors in our performances taking these roles on has been much easier due to there love and support.
Jacob Janis (Les)
Jacob is excited to perform in his first ConVal summer musical! He played Mr. Rogers, Bean Seller, and Baby Monkey in the Park Theatre summer camp production of Jack and the Beanstalk. He also played Hansel and Sleepy in the South Meadow School production of What Happened After Once Upon a Time? Jacob loves to draw comics and just earned his high blue belt in taekwondo. He also enjoys playing the saxophone and riding his bike.
Kalyn Ross (Racetrack)
Kalyn is very excited to play Race/Racetrack in this summer’s production of Newsies Jr. They recently played one of the lords and a sailor in the Pirate Queen, and was the stage manager for Midsummer Night’s Dream. They’ve been participating in performing arts their whole life, but have only begun considering one of their main hobbies when they joined the ensemble of Urinetown their freshman year of high school. They want to thank all their amazing friends in theater.
Nicole Davison (Snyder)
Nicole is very excited to work on her last theater production Newsies for the Lucy Hurland Theater. Other shows she's been in this year includes: And Then There Were None (William Henry Blore), Midsummer Night's Dream ( Frances Flute), and Pirate Queen(Sailor 3 & Lord 3). Nicole has been in a total of six Lucy Hurlin productions and was almost in All Shook Up (Warden) which was canceled due to covid. She gives her all into theater and tries to do everything she can for any production she's a part of.
Ellie Kiley (Pigtails)
I'm Ellie Kiley. My last musical was The Little Mermaid. My favorite thing about being in musicals is that I get to be on stage while dancing and I get to meet new friends.
Dani Olesky (Mush)
Daniella Olesky (Mush) is an up and coming actress with this being her second feature. She first starred as Baby Bear and Doppy in “What happened after once upon a time”. Coming into Newsies jr., she is excited to be working beside her oldest brother Beau, and sharing this experience with her friends. Dani attends South Meadow School and will be entering 6th grade. When she is not on stage she just loves to run! She is in constant motion either playing volleyball, rocking on the drums, triangle, and cowbell with percussion in the SMS band, or playing with her siblings and friends. She would like to thank Mr and Mrs Moore for the opportunity to perform is this years summer program.
Juliette Langley (Spot Conlon)
I'm Juliette/Jules and I'm very excited about be able to play the part Spot Conlon! I was in the Little Mermaid last year and am very thrilled to play in Newsies. Over last year and auditions this year I have got to meet the members and directors of the Lucy Hurlin Theater and am very thrilled to do it again this year.
Miriam Meltzer (Pat)
Miriam is a ten year old girl who attends Florence Rideout Elementary School. She is excited to be in her third production with ConVal Summer Theater. She performed in Annie Jr. when she was 6 and was in The Little Mermaid Jr. last summer. She has also performed in The Jungle Book Jr as the Grumpy Monkey and Ziggy the Vulture and in Descendants as one of the Isle Ensemble with other performance groups. In her free time she loves to sing and create art. In the winter she can be found on the slopes riding her snowboard.
Kai Flynn (Albert, Bill)
Kai is excited to be a part of Newsies with his classmates and underclassmen. He has worked in ensemble and supporting roles in the past, along with helping with tech a in some instances. He is passionate about Arts and Theater, and hopes to continue with theater and art classes in college even though it is not what he is studying. He is thankful to his classmates, the Moores, Eve Pierce, and Rachel Diemler for making these shows possible. He also wants to thank all the parents who support ConVal's Theater Arts Program.
Collins Harris (JoJo & Ethel)
Collins is a 10-year-old girl who just graduated from 4th grade at Antrim Elementary School. She first started acting last year in the summer production of “The Little Mermaid”, where she was in the ensemble. When at home, she likes to ride horses, swim, play with her pets, write music, read books, and enjoys playing the piano.
Ella Stultz (Muriel)
Ella Stultz plays Muriel in this production of Newsies Jr. Ella first found their love for acting in elementary school, starring in multiple productions by Children’s Stage Adventures. In middle school, under the direction of Maryanne Cullinan, Ella performed in 2 plays. During Ella’s freshman year at ConVal, they debuted as Anthony Marston in the play And Then There Were None by Agatha Christie, then played Hippolyta in Midsummer Night’s Dream, and rounded out the year on ensemble in The Pirate Queen. When not doing theater, Ella performs in the school band playing Alto Saxophone. Ella would like to thank their father and mother for all their support, and of course their older sister, Caroline Stultz, for being a great thespian role model during Ella’s first year at ConVal.
Makila Sestito (Dorothy)
Makila has done a few plays, mostly as a background character and she has done tech crew a few times. What she likes to do is art and in the future she wants to be a director and right her own shows.
Isabella Erickson (Ensemble)
I did the Little mermaid as ensemble last year. I like to play softball, hang out with friends, go rock climbing and I like to ride my bike. I participate in SMS chorus.
Olivia Foy (Ensemble)
Hi! This is my first show/production, and I'm very happy I got to participate in this! I’m hoping to be in more! I would also love to thank Ellie for getting me in last minute, and my parents and brother being very supportive and helpful!
