Conch Shell Productions, in co-production with HB Studio, presents a series of short, off-beat, dark comedic plays by Caribbean American playwrights.  The plays explore themes including group think, race, politics, voting in the present, and voting in the future.

On the eve of this year’s presidential election, Grace (a staunch Haitian-American Democrat) discovers her new husband is a Floridian Republican, and struggles between destroying her newfound political enemy or loving him.  Will love win over .... winning at all costs?

Co-producers of #bluelightseries

#Bluelightseries Fall 2020 is a Conch Shell Productions'  and HB Studio's second co-production.  

From April to May  2020, the two arts organizations co-produced the first #bluelightseries which featured plays by Phanesia Pharel, Paloma Sierra and Magaly Colimon-Christopher. Guest directors included Michele Shay, Andi Chapman, and Angel Flores. Performers included Yvette Ganier, Mateo Moreno, Sarah Marable, Raven Raye, Aaron Linker, Christin Eve Cato, Lucille Vasquez, Andres Santiago, Maria Fontanels, Frances Ramos, and Ginde Baker.


ABOUT CONCH SHELL PRODUCTIONS & HB STUDIO

At Conch Shell Productions, our mission is to infuse new Caribbean-American and Caribbean Diaspora voices into the American theater and film industry. To do so, we create a space to develop, workshop and produce new plays and screenplays. We believe that art can and should provoke social change. Our productions create an opportunity for diverse audiences to explore and celebrate the unique culturally diverse voices of our community of artists. We present fully produced new works, as well as readings. Communication between artists of Color and their audience is the ideal way to inspire communities of Color to become regular theatre goers. HB Studio is a school created by theater artists. We believe in a process of training that is essential to all the performing arts.
