About R&J&Z

What if Romeo and Juliet got a second chance? "R & J & Z" begins with Act V of Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet and keeps going, as the famous lovers navigate a world in which death isn't necessarily the end. Set against the historical backdrop of Verona's plague, Melody Bates’ new verse play throws old and new characters together over the course of an apocalyptic and action-packed 24 hours. Equally inspired by Shakespeare and modern zombie films, "R & J & Z" pushes the boundaries of theatrical humor and horror.

Clark Youth Theatre Incorporated

Clark Youth Theatre is Tulsa’s longest running youth arts program outside the public schools. The City of Tulsa turned a former Lutheran church into a youth theatre in 1978, and Clark operated as part of the Tulsa Park and Recreation Dept. for 35 seasons. Clark is entering it's 43rd Season, and 6th Season as a Non Profit entity.  We are so grateful to The City of Tulsa for repeatedly demonstrating its commitment to supporting local arts programs, as well as the many volunteers and students who donate their time and energy to our program.

We offer a full season of main stage productions, a full lineup of improv and acting classes on Saturdays, homeschool weekday classes, as well as camps. Youth ages 8-18 can participate, and all skill levels are welcome.  Summer Camp enrollment is available at www.clarkyouththeatre.com/education/camps/

This production of "R & J & Z" by Melody Bates is a part of our Clark Conservatory Program, designed to allow our older Clarkies be mentored by staff, Clark Graduates and trusted local professionals in more advanced and in depth work.
