Declaration is a student-directed production that offers a thoughtful and compelling examination of a school community in the aftermath of a shooting. Rather than focusing on the event itself, the play centers on the voices left behind — students, educators, and community members grappling with silence, responsibility, grief, and the search for understanding in the real world we live in today.

Told through intersecting perspectives, Declaration invites audiences to consider how individual choices and collective inaction shape the moments that follow crisis. The play challenges viewers to listen, reflect, and engage with difficult questions about accountability, empathy, and the power of voice within a community.

Presented under faculty supervision, this student-directed production approaches its subject matter with care, restraint, and respect. Declaration is an impactful and relevant work that encourages reflection and conversation, offering audiences an opportunity to witness meaningful storytelling that resonates beyond the stage.
