Katie Benson (Peppermint Patty, Glee Club Member)
Katie Benson (Junior) has been in productions since she was 8 years old, one of which includes Blythewood’s production of Wizard of Oz. She’s participated in a theater camp in Barnwell every summer where she’s been able to be part of productions such as The Fiddler on the Roof, Schoolhouse Rock, 101 Dalmatians, The Jungle Book, Beauty and the Beast, Magic Tree House: Pirates Past Noon, and most recently Bye Bye Birdie. Katie is very excited to be able to be a part of You’re a Good Man,Charlie Brown. She would like to extend a special thanks to all those who have supported her throughout the years.
Hannah Beville (Emily)
Hannah Beville (Freshman) has lived in Blythewood, South Carolina her whole life, and has participated in many church plays and singing performances, as well as productions at her school. In fifth grade, she was in Madagascar as a very small role, but once she got to eighth grade, she played Ms. Darbus in High School Musical. She started singing in her youth’s band at church in 2021. Hannah participated in drama classes and chorus all throughout her middle school years, and was able to join Theatre 2 and choir her first year of high school. This past fall she played Narrator 1 in The Greek Mythology Olympiaganza on the BHS stage.
Joseph Beville (Joe the Rich Kid)
Joseph Beville (Senior) has little theatre experience and the only other plays he has done is a church play and a play in second grade called “Dear Edwina”. He has also done lights at his church for the past year and is very good at it. In the summer of 2021 and 2022 Joseph went to Bob Jones University and did a Musical Theatre camp for a week and did a showcase of many different songs. Last year, when he was a junior, he was in the tech class for Wizard of Oz. Joseph has never really been a leader in theatre but he likes that because he’s more of a helper than a leader.
Thomas Bozard (Schroeder)
Thomas Bozard (Freshman) has been in the Blythewood Theater Department for the past year and has loved every second of it! Throughout his first year of high school theater, he has been most impacted by the community that this group has built. He wouldn’t be where he is now without the potential that Ms. Dietel and Ms. Claiborne saw in him and their dedication to making this show possible. Thanks for all that you do. Enjoy the show!
Angelica Cabrera (Violet, Glee Club Member)
Angelica Cabrera (Senior) from Barstow California, and has been a part of the theatre program since her freshman year. After seeing “The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee”, she knew she wanted to be a part of theatre.Last year’s BHS production of The Wizard of Oz was her very first musical. She loves to act and wants to pursue acting in the future. She also loves music and singing. She has played Nephew Fred’s Wife in “A Christmas Carol”, and Naja in the Talented and Gifted class” production of (Anon)ymous which received a Superior at State competition.She can’t wait to perform in “You’re A Good Man, Charlie Brown” She wants to thank her family for always supporting her. She hopes you all enjoy the show!!
Isnerys Carasquillo (Delores )
Isnerys Carrasquillo (Junior) recently moved to South Carolina from California. Isnerys performed in shows in her past school her freshman year. At BHS, she was in Dystopia! The Hungry Maze of Divergent Death, did tech in The Wizard of Oz and played Anon in the Talented and Gifted class’ production of Anon(ymous) which received a Superior rating at the state one-act play festival. Additionally, Isnerys was awarded a Superior in Acting for her portrayal of Anon. She really hopes everyone enjoys Charlie Brown!
Cayden Cox (Little Red Haired Girl, Blanket Dancer)
Cayden Cox (Junior) relocated to Blythewood High School from East Tennessee/Alabama. This will be her first time participating in a play at the school. When she was in middle school she was in 3 shows including Scrooge, Humbug High, and Fairy Tale Misfits. Her favorite role was Bonnie Crowley in Scrooge. Cayden loves to perform, as she is also a member of the Blythewood Varsity Cheer team. She is very excited to be in You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown. She can’t wait for the audience to enjoy the show and the actors' performances. Cayden would like to send a heartwarming thank you to Ms. Dietel and Mrs. Claiborne for their patience, time, and understanding.
Naiya Fernandez (Snoopy)
Naiya Fernandez (Junior) was seen last year on the BHS stage in The Wizard of Oz, and is very much excited to be in 3 productions for BHS this year (Your a Good Man Charlie Brown, Anonymous, and A Christmas Carol)! She first started theatre in the fifth grade and she has kept at it since. She is extremely grateful for her director Ms. Dietel for all the things she has learned and for the opportunities given through high school. She would also like to thank her mother for all that she has done for her. Naiya is very excited for all of you to enjoy “Your’e a Good Man Charlie Brown”!
Calla Friedman (Frieda, Rabbit, Glee Club Member)
Calla Friedman (Freshman) will be playing the ensemble member Frieda Rich. Her first production was a mini show of "Clue" at Columbia Children's Theater, where she went on to do many other productions. Calla's favorite roles include Alice from Matilda and Tomika from School of Rock. She also went to the Tri-District Arts Consortium for theater where she played Maria from The Sound of Music.
Elliot Hepler (Shermy)
Elliot Hepler (Senior) played East in “Almost Maine'' and was a member of the tech team last year for The Wizard of Oz. This year, he played Nephew Fred and the Ghost of Christmas Future in A Christmas Carol and Senator Laius and Mr. Zyclo in the Talented & Gifted class’ production of Anon(ymous). He has been enjoying the amazing things he has been able to create in theater with Ms. Dietel and his fellow students. He appreciates the support he feels from his classmates throughout their work together. He would like to thank his parents for supporting him, both his mother and father.
Abigail Hernandez (Marcy)
Abigail Hernandez (Sophomore) is enjoying her first year at BHS and her first Bengals On Stage musical. She transferred here from Richland Northeast where she played Lucy in You’re A Good Man, Charlie Brown and Louis in Sideways Stories of Wayside School last year. Last fall at BHS, Abigail played Zeus and Orpheus in The Greek Mythology Olympiaganza and Mrs. Cratchit in A Christmas Carol. She grew up watching her sisters perform at Lexington High and was inspired to become an actor. She’s been doing theatre since she was 12. She devotes her hard work to her mother, who sadly passed away. She looks up to her mother especially because she was a singer. She’s very grateful to her sisters for inspiring her, her mom for her gifts, all her theatre teachers/directors for believing in her and seeing talent and potential in her and her guardian for making sacrifices & helping her start her career.
Dee Hughes (Little Pig-Tailed Girl, Blanket Dancer, Glee Club Dancer)
Dee Hughes (Senior) was first introduced to the art of theatre when she was 6 years old, and played in a Christmas play at her church. Her interest in theatre peaked when she was 13 years old. She was accepted into a performing arts high school where she helped write an original play, When the World Ends. After transferring to Blythewood High School, she decided to take Theatre 2 again, where she ended up landing the role of ‘Purple’ in Dystopia! The Hungry Maze of Divergent Death and worked behind the scenes on The Wizard of Oz. Dee was seen as Belle and Old Woman in A Christmas Carol last December at The Farm at Ridgeway and this past February as Pascal in Anon(ymous), a role that earned her an Excellent in Acting at the Palmetto Dramatic Association’s One-Act Play Festival. She would like to thank Ms. Dietel for giving her the chance to not only be on stage, but help backstage as well!
Ella Humphries (Melody-Melody)
Ella Humphries (Senior) has been a part of the Blythewood Theatre Program since her Freshman year. You’re A Good Man, Charlie Brown will be her second musical with Blythewood High School. She has been in other productions such as Thirty Under Ninety, Almost, Maine, Wizard of Oz, A Christmas Carol, and Anon(ymous). She also serves on the leadership team for Blythewood's International Thespian Society Troupe. She is beyond excited for You’re A Good Man, Charlie Brown and cannot wait to put on an amazing show. She would like to thank her classmates, family, and director, Ms. Dietel for helping her become a better person and actor.
Lilly-Claire Lewis (Eudora)
Lilly-Claire Lewis is a junior and has been with the Blythewood Theatre Program since freshman year. Last year, she performed in the winter play, Almost, Maine, as Marcy. She also played Scarecrow in BHS’ rendition of The Wizard of Oz. She’s been an active performer since elementary school, and is excited to continue her career with BHS. Lilly-Claire wants to thank her family for their unconditional love and support, as well as Ms. Dietel and Ms. Claiborne for their hard work.
Lily Moody (Lucy Van Pelt)
Lily Moody (Junior) has been an actor for shows such as Deena in Almost Maine, Jacob Marley in A Christmas Carol, Vanna in Anon(ymous), and worked as a puppeteer in The Wizard of Oz. She is excited for the spring production of You’re a Good Man Charlie Brown. She would like to thank Ms. Dietel and Ms. Claiborne for helping her become a better singer and actor, and her family for always cheering her on.
Paeton Patterson (Woodstock, Blanket Dancer)
Paeton Patterson (Junior) has been involved with the theatre program at Blythewood for all of his 3 years attending the school. He has loved theatre ever since being introduced to “Hamilton” in 6th grade. His stage debut was Phil in Almost, Maine in December 2021. He then went on to perform as a Crow in The Wizard of Oz in April 2022, and played Mr. Mackus in Anon(ymous) in February 2023! Paeton serves on the Leadership Team for the BHS International Thespian Society Troupe. Paeton is very thankful for our wonderful director Ms. Dietel, talented musical director Ms. Claiborne, amazing choreographer Ms. Gandy, the techies, and all the actors for all they have done to make this show the best it could possibly be! He hopes everyone enjoys “You’re A Good Man, Charlie Brown” and has an unforgettable experience!
Sanders Pitts (Linus Van Pelt)
Sanders Pitts is enjoying his final year at Blythewood High School. He’s been extensively involved since Freshman year, starting off as William Barfeé in the 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee. Sanders has explored many elements of theatre throughout the past 4 years, performing in T&G both his Sophomore and Junior years as well as serving as Assistant Stage Manager and Design Team member for the past musical, The Wizard of Oz. Sanders made his directorial debut this year in The Greek Mythology Olympiaganza and was most recently seen as Ebeneezer Scrooge in the Bengals On Stage annual tradition, A Christmas Carol. Outside of school, Sanders explores theatre-making with 15 Ukrainian high school students as the International Theatre Club Moderator for Engin Program, using the craft of theatre to teach English. Sanders would like to welcome you to You’re a Good Man Charlie Brown and thanks the cast, crew, and director.
Jack Powell (Charlie Brown)
Jack Powell (Freshman) is excited to be performing in his first show with Bengals OnStage. He has performed in multiple productions, with his most enjoyed roles being Alex in Madagascar Jr. in 5th grade, Troy Bolton in High School Musical Jr. in 8th grade, and Donkey in Shrek Jr., also in 8th grade. Jack loves to sing and currently sings the part of tenor in the BHS Concert Choir, as well as playing the oboe in the Concert Band. He has always loved music, and hopes that he can show that passion in his portrayal of this famous Peanuts character, Charlie Brown.. He would like to thank everyone who has worked on this show, including Ms. Dietel, Ms. Claiborne, the amazing theater leads, and everyone else who has helped make “You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown” happen!
Sidney Powell (Sally Brown)
Sidney Powell (Junior) has been in several school shows before, but this is her second show at Blythewood High School. Last year, she participated in her first show at BHS as Dorothy in “The Wizard of Oz”. Sidney has always had a passion for music. She plays clarinet in the BHS Wind Symphony and Blue Legion Marching Band. In addition to her amazing music teachers from Round Top Elementary, Blythewood Middle School, and BHS, Sidney has also received instruction in voice and piano at Freeway Music. Sidney wants to thank everyone in the show for being amazingly supportive friends, and she especially wants to give Ms. Dietel and Ms. Claiborne a special thank you for helping her on this journey!
Fernand Quintero (Jose, Blanket Dancer, Glee Club Member)
Fernand (Junior) started theatre during Freshman Year.. He was inspired by previous musicals and plays that he had seen before going into high School. He did Christmas plays at his church. His first role in high school was Guard 1 in “Dystopia!, The Hungry Maze of Divergent Death”. He also helped with set and music working in school and afterschool on the show with his peers. This year, Fernand was seen as Bob Cratchit in A Christmas Carol and Ali & Ignacio in Anon(ymous). He can’t wait for you to see and enjoy “You’re a Good Ma n, Charlie Brown”. He would like to thank his family for always supporting and helping him in his dream of doing Theatre and Choir at school. He would also like to thank Ms. Dietel and Ms. Claiborne for always helping him stay on track and to keep looking forward toward the great future.
Molly Sherman (Molly Volley, Glee Club Member)
Molly Sherman (Sophomore) is performing in her second musical with Bengals On Stage. She is excited to continue performing at Blythewood High School after being in The Wizard of Oz last year. She started doing musicals in 4th grade starting off with Peter Pan Jr. and continuing in various performances throughout the years. Molly enjoys singing in Blythewood’s Bella Voce choir as well as the acaBengals, and helping with student council at Blythewood High School. Molly is very grateful for the opportunity she has been given to participate this year in “You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown”. She would like to thank Ms. Dietel and Ms. Claiborne for putting on this amazing show. Molly is also grateful for her whole family for supporting her in this and all of her other activities!
EJ Washington (Franklin, Blanket Dancer, Rabbit)
EJ Washington (Sophomore) is in his first year of theatre at BHS. Earlier this year, EJ was seen as Mr. Fezziwig and Peter Cratchit in A Christmas Carol. EJ has been singing since he was in the 4th grade. He is also on the cross country and track teams and makes time for everything. He enjoys singing, acting, and running. He knew he wanted to start acting in middle school but didn't get the chance to until he was in high school. He loves the program so far and plans on doing it until his senior year. He would like to thank Ms. Dietel and Ms. Claiborne for putting him on this amazing show! He would also like to thank his family for supporting him and doing everything they can so he can be successful.
