Lorenzo Curran (Lt. Frank Cioffi)
Lorenzo, a sophomore from Mary Immaculate School, has performed in several Blackfriars productions including "The Drowsy Chaperone," for which he won the Dallas Summer Musical's High School Musical Theatre Award for Best Featured Performer. He is also a member of the 2020 TPSMEA All-State and All-Region Choirs and TAPPS District All-Star One-Act Play cast. Since 2018, he performs with North Texas Performing Arts and some of his favorite roles include Davey ("Newsies"), Laurie ("Little Women"), Enjolras ("Les Miserables"), and Action ("West Side Story"). Off' stage, Lorenzo enjoys camping as a Life Scout with Coppell Troop 845.
Katy Timmins (Niki Harris)
Katy is a junior appearing in her third Blackfriars production. Her previous credits include "Mame" and "The Drowsy Chaperone." Katy has an impressive resume of performances outside of BL, including Tanya in "Mamma Mia!" (North Texas Performing Arts), Mrs. Meers in "Thoroughly Modern Millie: (NTPA) and Rosie Jingles in "A Christmas Line" (East Dallas Arts). Katy is a member of NHS and Rho Kappa and she serves as a Mentor Group Vice Captain for the Aquinas House. "I'm very excited to be involved in this production. I would like to say thank you to everyone that helped make this show a success, especially Ms. Sawyer and Ms. May. Thank you also to my friends and family for always supporting me."
Jayna Kidd (Georgia Hendricks)
Newcomer Jayna Kidd is appearing in her first Blackfriars production in the role of Georgia. A member of BL's A Capella Choir and Show Choir, Jayna spends her time singing - mostly Broadway, Pop/rock - and dancing - Tap, Ballet, Pointe, and Jazz. Jayna would like to thank her family, teachers, and coaches for all their encouragement and support, with special recognition going to Bryce, Scarlett, Hilary, and Catherine for all of their expertise and guidance. Additionally she would like to thank Mrs. Sawyer and Ms. May for this amazing opportunity. Above all, Jayna would like to thank Gig for taking her to her first musical, always believing in her, and understanding the importance of a great pair of shoes.
Anna Riley (Carmen Bernstein)
This show marks Anna's 6th time to grace the BL stage. She was seen in "Footloose," the Alumni Revue, "Mame" (Sally Cato), "The Drowsy Chaperone" (Trix the Aviatrix), and "Proof" (Claire). Anna is a Senior Class Rep for Ricci House and a Mentor Group Captain, and a member of NEHS and BL Ambassadors. "Mom, Dad, and Family, thank you always for your support. From being the audience to my audition preparation endeavors, to putting up with my tech week moods, thank you, I love you. Thank you to Mr. Clark for tolerating my mentor group and tech class shenanigans, to Ms. May for not expressing irritation (at least not to my face haha) when I didn’t turn in my contract or my measurement sheet, and thank you so much to Ms. Sawyer for making me feel welcome as a nervous freshman in Footloose and helping me find my beloved home in Blackfriars. Thank you to this cast and crew, what a pleasure to get to share my Senior Show memories with you."
Davis Chen (Aaron Fox)
Davis Chen is a senior returning for his 4th show. Previous credits include "Proof" (Harold Dobbs), "The Drowsy Chaperone" (Robert Martin), and "Mame" (Lindsay Woolsey). He has also appeared as Sonny Malone in "Xanadu" and as Mufasa in "Lion King." Davis is President of the Asian American Club and a member of A Capella Choir, Harmony Choir, NHS, and BL Ambassadors, and a member of the Siena House Council. "After 3 years of doing this, I thought leaving would come naturally or be easy. However, all the people I've met and all the relationships I've formed have made it damn near impossible. I thank my family every year, and that still goes without saying, but I want to thank the members of my cast and crew who made my time here. Thank you for making this escape from my everyday reality. Thank you for making this my home away from home. Thank you for having me. I will see you guys again; that's a promise. Goodnight!"
Kingsley Nwabeke (Bobby Pepper/Rob Hood/Alan O'Dell)
Kingsley has found his home on the stage after appearing in last year's "The Drowsy Chaperone." He plays three roles - although they are all the same person, and he acts as the Boys' Dance Captain. Kingsley is The Aquinas House Captain and a member of the BL Ambassadors, the Belonging Board, Mu Alpha Theta and the National Honor Society. He is also the secretary of the National English Honor Society and a member of the Pan Africa Club. "I am actually three kids in a trench coat. I thought DFW was Arthur's sister from the show. Do not use the toile in your dreams. Trust me on this one."
Ben Schwartz (Christopher Belling)
Ben is a senior returning for his 10th show; credits include "A Midsummer Night's Dream," "Murder on the Nile," "Footloose," "Mame" (claude Upson), "Sense & Sensibility," "Visions of Simone Machard," and "The Drowsy Chaperone." He is a member of Montford House. "For the past 4 years a lot has changed with myself. One constant has always been theater. I would like to thank Lucia for keeping me focused and always making me laugh. I would like to thank the whole cast and crew, specifically Joseph, Bailey, Davis, Anna, Kingsley, Jada, and Mai-Vi for sticking with me. I would love to thank Mrs. Sawyer, Ms. May and Mr. Clark for being my parents at school."
London Selah (Bambi Bernet/Dance Captain)
London is appearing in her third Blackfriars production as Bambi. She is also one of the Dance Captains of the show. Previously London appeared as Kitty in The Drowsy Chaperone and she was a cast member of Mame. Other credits include FAME, Suessical, Winnie the Pooh, and Aladdin. London is a member of the BL Brigade and is involved in Best Buddies, Red Cross club, Mu Alpha Theta, NEHS, BL Ambassadors, Student Leadership and House Leadership. She is also involved in High School Aerospace Scholars and enjoys scuba diving, sailing, and skiing. "I'm so lucky to have my mom, my dad, my grandmotoher, my stepmom, my boyfriend, and my best friends supporting me throughout this show. I couldn't have done it without them and I'm so glad to be surrounded by such a wonderful group of individuals.
Kevin Daniel (Daryl Grady)
Kevin is a sophomore whose resume includes "Fiddler on the Roof" (Fyedka), "Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory" (Grandpa Joe), "Mary Poppins" (Mr. Banks), "Beauty and the Beast," "Children of Eden," and "Les Miserables." He plays tennis for BL and is a member of the Across Campus team. Kevin is a member of Future Business Leaders of America, BL Car and Aviation Club, and the BL Gaming Club. "I feel a strong connection to my "Curtains" character because of my journalism work in Across Campus. Shout out to Bishop Lynch Gaming Club members in the cast - Aidan, John, Joseph, Noah, and Ava."
Sarah Hendry (Johnny Harmon)
Sarah plays the role of Johnny in her 8th Blackfriars production. Previously she was a cast member of "The Arsonists," "Sense & Sensibility," "Mame," "The Robe," "The Drowsy Chaperone." "Harvey," and "Antigone." Sarah is a member of the Film Club, A Capella Choir, BL Ambassadors, NHS, and the French Honor Society. "Thanks to all my friends and family (Go Adelmanns!), my parents, and all the cast and crew. Lots of love!"
Aidan Humason (Oscar Shapiro)
Junior Aidan Humason has had interesting roles in all of his theatrical appearances, including Ralph Devine in "Mame," and Gangster 1 in "The Drowsy Chaperone." Outside of BL he has appeared as The Mad Hatter in "Alice in Wonderland," as Smee in "Peter Pan" and in the chorus of "Aladdin" and "The Little Mermaid." Aidan is on the Football and Wrestling teams and the BL A Capella Choir. He is also the president of the Gaming Club. "Being weird is like being called Limited Edition. It means that you're something people don't see often."
Joseph Mathews (Sidney Bernstein)
Joseph is a senior who has appeared in all four spring musicals - "Footloose," "Mame," and "The Drowsy Chaperone." He is a member of the BL Bowling Team.
Bailey Wiegert (Jessica Cranshaw/Dance Captain/Swing)
Senior Bailey Wiegert is a four-year Blackfriar having appeared in the Blackbox productions of "A Midsummer Night's Dream," "The Arsonists," "The Visions of Simone Machard," and the musicals "Mame" and "The Drowsy Chaperone." While a student at Mary Immaculate, Bailey appeared in "Fiddler on the Roof," "Beauty and the Beast," "Mary Poppins," "Wicked," and "The Wizard of Oz." Bailey is a member of the BL Ambassadors, Student Leadership, Best Buddies, Kids Helping Kids, Cooking for Causes, and BL for Change. She was a member of the Junior Girls Retreat Prayer Team and she serves as House Chaplain for the Siena House. Bailey is also a four-year member of the BL Brigade and currently serves as the Head Star Sergeant. "Thank you so much to my family for always being there and waking up early to get John and me here on the weekends. Also, to my friends for bearing with me and my crazy schedule. Grace Ford (Jessica Cranshaw)
Senior Grace Ford is appearing in her 4th Blackfriars production. She was cast as a Fairy in "A Midsummer Night's Dream" and was in "Mame" and "The Drowsy Chaperone." Grace is a member of choir and color guard, and is the Chaplain for her Lima House Mentor Group. She is an honor roll student and a member of the Choir Leadership Council and was named to the TPSMEA All-Region Choir.
Jada Nwigwe (Jessica Cranshaw)
Jada is a senior from St. Patrick School, who has appeared in numerous musicals including "Beauty and the Beast," "Fiddler on the Roof," "The Little Mermaid," and "Seussical." She has also appeared in "The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe." Her Blackfriars credits include The Alumni Revue, "Footloose," "Mame," and "The Drowsy Chaperone," playing the title character. Jada is a BL Ambassador, member of NHS, and 4-year member of A Capella and Women's Select Choirs. She has been named to the All Region Treble Choir twice. She also serves as a senior class representative and Vice President of NLHS. "I'm so thankful for my family, friends, and teachers who have gone out of their way to show their support for me. Mai-Vi Oberski (Jessica Cranshaw)
Senior Mai-Vi has appeared in 4 productions during her 4 years at BL. Previous credits include "A Midsummer NIght's Dream," "Murder on the Nile," "Mame," "The Visions of Simone Machard," "The Drowsy Chaperone," and "Proof." Other productions include "Alice in Wonderland," "Joseph the Dreamer," "The Emporer's New Clothes," and "Right Before Your Eyes." Mai-Vi is a member of the Asian American Club, Theatre Arts Club, and Cooking 4 Causes. In addition she is a member of BL Ambassadors, House System Leadership, NEHS, National Latin Honor Society, Rho Kappa, and Harmony Show Choir. "This production has been wonderful to work on, love you all!"
Julia Kubes (Sasha Iljinsky)
Senior Julia Kubes is appearing in her second Blackfriars musical, in the role of Sasha. Previously she was in the chorus of "Mame," and has also appeared as Miss Hannigan in "Annie," Maleficent in "Sleeping Beauty," and as the Witch in "Into the Woods." Julia is a member of the Science National Honor Society, Mu Alpha Theta, TAPPS Academic Team, A Capella Choir, BL Ambassadors, and was recently name the Valedictorian of the Class of 2021. "Even though I’ve only been in two productions, I have really enjoyed my time as a Black Friar. I love the community we create between all the cast and crew members. My high school career couldn’t have been complete without the hours I spent on the weekends rehearsing for the musical. And I wouldn’t have traded the world for the connections I’ve made during that time."
John Wiegert (Randy Dexter)
John is a sophomore appearing for the second time with the Blackfriars, in the role of Randy. He was a member of the cast of "The Drowsy Chaperone," and was previously cast as Pinocchio in "Shrek, Jr."
Joseph Norman (Harv Fremont)
Joseph is a sophomore appearing in his second Blackfriars production. He was a member of the cast of "The Drowsy Chaperone."
Amanda Earp (Ensemble/Swing)
Sophomore Amanda Earp is a newcomer to the Blackfriars, but has appeared as Mrs. Pugh in "Annie Jr." as well as numerous Missoula Children's Theatre productions. She is a member of the BL Volleyball team, Kids Help Kids, Mu Alpha Theta, and the National English Honor Society. Amanda serves the Montfort House Council as Sophomore Representative, and is a member of the BL Choir and Harmony Show Choir. In her spare time she plays club volleyball. "I'd like to thank my mom and dad for pushing me to be the best person I can be, my brother Thomas for having my back, and my sister Serena who is and always will be my ride or die. Love y'all so much!"
Arabella LaFond (Ensemble)
Sophomore Arabella is appearing for the 4th time on the Blackfriars stage. Previous credits include "Visions of Simone Machard," "The Drowsy Chaperone," and "Proof." She is a Mentor Group Chaplain and a member of the BL A Capella Choir. "I just want to say thank you to Ms. May, Mrs. Sawyer, Mr. Leos, and Mrs. Anderson for helping us to put on such an incredible show! I also want to say thank you to my weird sisters for always holding my pinky <3."
Gretta Weich (Student Asst. Director / Ensemble)
Gretta is a Junior appearing in her third Blackfriars Musical, and she is one of the Student Asst. Directors for this production. Previous credits include "Mame" and "The Drowsy Chaperone" at BL and "Dinner at Eight, Dead by Nine" at St. Bernard School. Gretta is a member of the Bowling Team, NHS, NEHS, NLHHS, SNHS, Rho Kappa, Mu Alpha Theta and BL MFC. "It's such a great experience to be a part of the musicals every year and to form new friendships with people."
Kaelyn Denney (Ensemble/Swing)
Kaelyn Denney is a freshman appearing in her first Blackfriars production. Outside of BL she has performed in multiple Dallas Children's Theatre Showcases, and she has sung with the Children's Chorus of Greater Dallas. Kaelyn is a member of the BL Choir, Women's Select Choir and Harmony Show Choir. "I am so excited to be a part of this show! I'm so grateful to my friends and family for their love and support. Thank you also to Ms. Sawyer and Ms. May for really making an effort to figure out ways to let the show go on with everything this crazy year has thrown at us!"
Kathryn Bell (Ensemble)
Kathryn is a sophomore appearing in her fourth Blackfriars production. Previous credits include "The Drowsy Chaperone" and TAPPS One-Act Plays "The Robe" (Theodosia) and "Antigone" (Antigone/Eurydice). She has also appeared in productions of "Aladdin," "The Wizard of Oz," "Hairspray," and "Dark Road." Kathryn is a member of Best Buddies, Junior World Affairs Council (President), National English Honor Society, and the Writing Club. "Thank you to my family and friends for supporting me in everything I do."
Sam Brockette (Ensemble)
Sam is a freshman with an impressive resume. She has appeared in "Chitty Chitty Bang Bang," "Mary Poppins Jr.," and "Will Wonka Jr." at St. Patrick School and in "Annie" at ACT. Sam has also appeared in "Seussical" and "Aladdin" through DSM Academy, plus several other small plays at Dallas Theater Center, Dallas Children's Theater, and Dallas Summer Musicals. She is the Freshman Representative for the Angelico House. "Thank you to everyone who worked on the musical and for giving me this great opportunity."
Noah Sorenson (Ensemble)
Freshman Noah Sorenson is thrilled to be part of the Blackfriars Guildd. He is a member of the Asian American Club and the BL A Capella Choir, and he enjoys playing guitar in an "outside of BL" band. "This is my first year here at Bishop Lynch and the first musical production I have been in, and it is really an amazing opportunity to have met everyone here and to have been able to make new friends with these great people."
