Bishop Canevin High School proudly presents Into the Woods, Stephen Sondheim’s witty, heartfelt, and imaginative musical that brings classic fairy tales together in a bold new way. When Cinderella, Little Red Riding Hood, Jack, a Baker, and a Witch set off into the woods to chase their wishes, their stories collide—and the consequences are anything but simple. With a brilliant, fast-paced score and richly layered storytelling, Into the Woods explores what happens after “happily ever after,” revealing powerful themes of choice, responsibility, loss, and community. Filled with humor, magic, and emotional depth, this production invites audiences of all ages to step into a world where every decision matters and no path is ever as straightforward as it seems.

The annual school musical (affectionally known as “the play”) has been a standout tradition at Bishop Canevin for over 60 years. Our performing arts students work together on and off stage to create, inspire, entertain, and celebrate musical theatre. The combined cast, stage crew, lighting and sound crew, student orchestra, and front-of-house support volunteers make the musical one of activities with the highest participation levels in the school year after year.

In addition to the spring musical, BC Musical Theatre offers Crusaders In Harmony – a glee club/show choir performing a Christmas and general season repertoire of Broadway, pop, and traditional tunes – and a popular and highly enjoyable Youth Musical Theatre Camp every summer for aspiring performers in grades 5 through 8. In our purpose-built rehearsal studio, students can even enroll in Performing Arts classes as part of their academic schedule.
