John Alfay (Chandler Marlowe)
John is a senior who is active in his school’s soccer and volleyball teams and plays saxophone in the school band. He also plays tennis, and plays the guitar for his church’s worship team. John works in the restaurant industry. He has had speaking parts in elementary and church programs and has competed in acting competitions. After graduation, he plans to attend the University of Detroit Mercy to study Biology, with hopes of becoming a dentist. He enjoys snowboarding and exploring national parks. John is excited to be part of this production, working with the cast during his final year of high school and giving the audience a performance they can enjoy.
Kate Cavanaugh (Haversham)
Kate is a junior and is excited to be part of this production. She has previously participated in two Reader’s Theaters for state competition. After graduation, Kate hopes to become a Christian counselor and a mom. A proud extrovert, she loves talking with people and is thrilled to work with her friends, learn from her directors, and experience the excitement of performing for a live audience.
Jackson Dawley (Rick Carlyle)
Jackson is a junior who plays soccer and baseball for his school. He is involved in the percussion ensemble and vocal ensemble, participates in Bible quizzing, and plays percussion in his church’s orchestra. Jackson has competed in both Reader’s Theater and poetry. After graduation, he plans to study microbiology or chemical engineering and dreams of one day starting his own board game store. He is excited to be directly involved in creating an enjoyable and suspenseful performance for the audience.
Elijah Dorey (Peter Flimsey)
Elijah is a senior and is very involved in extracurricular activities. He participates in baseball, vocal ensemble, brass ensemble, percussion ensemble, handbell choir, and Bible quizzing. Outside of school, Elijah volunteers at his church by helping prepare Wednesday night dinners, playing in the church orchestra, and assisting with Sunday maintenance. He also plays his horn in the Troy Metro Symphony Orchestra. Elijah previously appeared in Wait Until Dark by Frederick Knott and has been involved in several acting and Reader’s Theater competition groups. After graduation, he plans to work as a painter over the summer before attending college to study and become a foreign missionary. He enjoys camping and backpacking and is excited to be part of this production because he loves working with friends and classmates to create something meaningful and make lasting memories with the cast and directors.
Lula Dushaj (Laura Carlyle)
Lula is a freshman who plays soccer for her school and is involved with the yearbook. She participated in Reader’s Theater last year for competition. After graduation, she plans to become a high school teacher. The youngest of 12 siblings, Lula is excited to create lasting memories through this production.
Naomi Jones (Rita Eyelesbarrow)
Naomi is a freshman who plays on the school’s volleyball team. This is her first theater production, and she is excited to step into acting for the first time. After high school, Naomi hopes to pursue a career related to math or science. She enjoys making art and is looking forward to getting to know the other cast members and making new friends through this production.
Danielle (Kessy) Kameni (Miss Maple)
Kessy is a senior who is involved in the school’s vocal ensemble, handbell choir, choir, and orchestra, and serves as vice president of her class. She volunteers as a teacher’s assistant in a local boys and girls Bible club. New to the stage this year, Kessy began her acting journey with a competition earlier in the school year. After graduation, she plans to attend college to become an elementary teacher. She is excited to be part of this production to work with a cast she gets along with so well, cherishing the memories they’ve already made and looking forward to more. Kessy is also eager for the performances and the rewarding feeling of seeing all the hard work from both the cast and crew come together on stage.
David Maris (Louie Fan)
David is a senior who stays busy as a member of the school’s soccer, basketball, wrestling, baseball, and volleyball teams. In addition to athletics, he plays the piano, enjoys rock climbing, and has competed in solo speech, acting, and preaching competitions. After graduation, David plans to work in a trade and continue serving in his local church. Some fun facts about him include having played almost every sport, completing a V5 boulder while rock climbing, and missing a layup at the buzzer on spirit night. He is excited to be part of this production for the challenge of memorization and practice, the time spent with the cast, and the reward of putting on a great final performance.
Savana McCallister (Charity Haze)
Savana is a sophomore who plays on the school’s volleyball team and is involved in handbell choir and band, where she plays the saxophone. She also plays piano and sings in her church’s youth choir. Savana has had speaking parts in elementary programs and has competed for her school in both solo speech and Reader’s Theater. After high school, she plans to attend a local college to study to become either a librarian or an English teacher. She enjoys writing poetry, and one of her poems was recently submitted to a competition and selected for publication. Savana collects cacti and is excited to make new friends with students she doesn’t know very well through this production.
Wesley Michalek (Father White)
Wesley is a senior who plays soccer, volleyball, and baseball for his school. He is also a member of the vocal ensemble and percussion ensemble and has participated in acting groups for competition. After graduation, Wesley plans to attend Bob Jones University. He instantly becomes happier when pizza is nearby and is excited to be part of this production so he can have a great time with his friends.
