About Holiday Inn
Irving Berlin's Holiday Inn tells the story of Jim, who leaves the bright lights of show business behind to settle down on his farmhouse in Connecticut... but life just isn't the same without a bit of song and dance. Jim's luck takes a spectacular turn when he meets Linda, a spirited schoolteacher with talent to spare. Together they turn the farmhouse into a fabulous inn with dazzling performances to celebrate each holiday, from Thanksgiving to the Fourth of July. But when Jim's best friend Ted tries to lure Linda to Hollywood to be his new dance partner, will Jim be able to salvage his latest chance at love?
Based on the classic film, this joyous musical features thrilling dance numbers, laugh-out-loud comedy and a parade of hit Irving Berlin songs, including "Blue Skies," "Easter Parade," "Steppin' Out With My Baby," "Heat Wave," "White Christmas," "Be Careful, It's My Heart," "Cheek to Cheek," "Shaking the Blues Away" and many more!
Director's Note
Thank you for checking into Holiday Inn! This updated classic is a love letter to the golden age of Broadway. It is a massive challenge from all angles: technical, design, and performance. The show demands resilience in the face of challenges, energy, joy, and creativity; all areas in which the Beechwood Musical Theater family excels. I could not be more proud of the efforts of the parent volunteers, staff, crew, and cast throughout this creative process. I am deeply grateful for the various parent committees that have made the dinner theater, concessions, cast bouquets, programs, and the set build possible. The love and hard work poured into each element elevate the quality of this program and help develop new skill sets in the students that will remain with them beyond their time on this stage.
I would like to thank the entire production staff, especially Taylor Ross, Kristiana Hiner, Tonya Boyle, and Kate Coyne- Chailland for sharing their endless talent and love of this program. I am grateful to Principal Kaiser, Stefanie Ruhland, and the Board of Education for their support and guidance navigating the logistics of the rehearsal process under the current guidelines. Special shoutout to my brother Adam in his first year with the program and the intrepid set building crew who kept me laughing throughout all of the early Saturday mornings and created a masterpiece with a few fun surprises!
Thank you for supporting the theater program. We hope you enjoy your stay at Mason Farm, home of Holiday Inn!
