Charlie Baker (Farquaad's Guard & Ensemble)
Charlie is a 6th grader starting his first year in drama club. He enjoys watching movies and talking to friends in his free time. He is really excited to be in Shrek the musical!
Eleanor/Ghost Baker (Little Pig #2 & Duloc Performer)
Eleanor/Ghost is a new 8th grader here at BHS, looking to explore their acting options. Shrek is their first BHS musical, yet will also be their last. The only other musical they were going to perform, (Annie Jr.) was canceled due to covid. In their free time, Eleanor/Ghost likes to be adopted by upperclassmen. They’d like to thank everyone involved in this musical, it takes every single one of them to create this show. It’s a hard thing to do, but it’s getting done all thanks to our amazing cast, crew, and directors.
Nicholas Barth (Young Shrek & Guard)
Nicholas is a 3rd grade student at Centerville Elementary and so excited to be a part of Shrek the Musical at BHS! This is Nicholas's BHSDC debut and definitely not his last. When not on the stage, Nicholas loves to play flag football, basketball, baseball and swim. He has been playing the piano for 4 years and recently began to learn the bagpipes. Nicholas would like to thank everyone for coming to see Shrek...enjoy the show!
Mariana Durango Bedran (Pit Musician - 2nd Violin )
Mariana is Colombian and her first language is Spanish. She moved to the US when she was 11 and has been living here since then. Mariana has been playing violin for four years and she is a freshman at Barnstable High School. This is her first time playing music for a musical, she has always played classical until now. Mariana is very thankful for the opportunity and super excited for the shows :)
Matthew Brancaccio (Big Bad Wolf)
Matthew is an 8th grader at BHS and is so excited to be in his first musical production. Matthew can make a mean Sloppy Joe’s like it’s nobody’s business and also likes the color blue.
Avery Brooke (Peter Pan & Happy People Mob)
Avery is an eighth grader here at BHS, and this is her first year in drama club. Shrek is her first performance, and she is ecstatic to be part of the BHSDC and work with everyone. She would like to thank her family and friends for their support.
Alex Brown (Ugly Duckling & Duloc Performer)
Alex is a junior here at Barnstable Highschool and probably one of the most notable background characters you’ve ever seen. Alex did great work backstage in 2020, but decided to audition for Shrek the Musical this year as a joke and ended up getting an actual role, and is doing pretty good at it! They want to thank their sister Mia, brother Loghan, best friend Remus and crusty old white dog Potato (formally known as Brie). Alex is also really bad at taking pictures.
Maddy Brown (Humpty Dumpty)
Maddy Brown is a 15 years old sophomore at Barnstable High School. This is her first year in drama and wanted to join to be with her friends Olivia, Lucy, and Laik. She quickly enjoyed the experience and wants to take part in future years also.
Keith Caldwell (King Harold & Knight 2)
Keith Caldwell teaches English and Drama & Theatre Arts here at BHS. He has enjoyed the privilege of performing on the BHS stage both as a student and as a faculty member. When a student here, he was the Drama Club president, and his acting roles included Prince Escalus in Romeo and Juliet, David Benter in The Mouse that Roared, Egbert Van Horn in Curse You, Jack Dalton!, Sam Harris in George M., and Moonface Martin in Anything Goes (a role he reprised for the BHSDC 40 years later!). Other roles Mr. Caldwell has played while a teacher here at BHS include the Cowardly Lion in The Wizard of Oz, Tom in The Glass Menagerie, Judge Danforth in The Crucible, and Arthur Conan Doyle/Professor Moriarty in The Death and Life of Sherlock Holmes. He had the privilege of co-directing Godspell, She Loves Me, and Pippin with his good friend Jeff Billard. Mr. Caldwell has also acted in other local theater productions, including playing Marc in Art at the Provincetown Theater, Doc in Mister Roberts at the Barnstable Comedy Club, and Alan in God of Carnage at the Cotuit Center for the Arts. In addition to teaching and directing here at BHS, Mr. Caldwell is the head girls cross country and track & field coach and serves as vice-president of the Barnstable Teachers Association.
Olivia Cammarano (Lighting Crew)
Olivia is weirded out because they are writing in the third person about themselves. They worked on lighting during the Halloween Sketch Comedy Show at Harwich Junior Theatre last October. They love the arts and are enrolled in the Barnstable High School band. They are so excited to be part of this musical!
Ryan Christensen (Pit Musician - Guitar 2 )
Ryan is a junior who has been playing guitar for nearly twelve years now. He has been the Class of 2023 Class President since his freshman year. He involves himself in many extracurriculars, such as the BHS Jazz Band, Mock Trial Team, and Boys Golf Team. If you can’t find him hanging in the band room jammin’ out, he’s most likely hitting the slopes up north!
Lylah Crawley (Little Pig #3 & Duloc Performer)
Lylah is an 8th grader that has always had an interest in singing and acting. She is a gymnast on the high school team and has been doing many sports since she was 3 years old. To be a part of drama club has been an amazing experience and she can’t wait to do it again next year.
Maryana Crawley (Princess Fiona, Queen Lillian & Featured Dancer)
Maryana is ecstatic to be on stage with her fabulous cast mates. This is her very first time being a lead and she is ever so grateful for this opportunity. Those she would like to thank are her family for supporting her through and through and Garrett Wiseman for being a hamster.
Carlotta Crudele (Ugly Duckling, Blind Mouse #2 & Featured Dancer)
Carlotta, better known as Carly, is an exchange student from Italy. This is Carly's senior year here at BHS and she really loves drama. Carly has been doing theatre her whole life. A couple of years ago unfortunately she had to quit but this year she was finally able to join a drama club again and she couldn't be happier. Carly loves the supportive and stimulating environment of these crazy and dedicated people but the thing that she's missed and loves the most is the adrenaline rush right before going on the stage. It’s a mix of indescribable emotions that nothing else ever made her feel and she can't wait to experience it again. Carly is very excited to challenge herself again and to be finally back. She is very proud of everyone and hopes you will enjoy the show as much as the cast does!
Noah Day (Thelonius - Farquaad's Guard)
Noah is a14 year old 8th grader at BHS. He works on a lobster boat in the summer, loves to fish, kayak, play video games and hang out with his blind, fat dog named Pigalina.
Izabela de Assis (Duloc Performer & Ensemble)
This is Izabela’s first time acting in musical theater, but she has always dreamed of being on the big stage. She has been singing since she was little, and she enjoys doing so in her free time. Izabela is a part of chorus, and has sung solo in front of a small church. She is a part of the BIS a cappella singing group, Rockapella. She also has a passion for movies, musicals, and TV shows.
Melvin Torres De Leon (Pied Piper)
Melvin is usually a shy artist with a secret love for musicals and theater but now he is an actor in a school musical! It's crazy imagining that he is actually going through with this. It's obviously going to be really nerve racking and stressful but hey, Melvin has already made it this far and he is not backing down. He's going to end off this senior year with a bow.
Delilah DeYoung (Fairy Godmother & Duloc Performer)
Delilah is an eighth grader at Barnstable High School. Whilst this is her first production at Barnstable High School, she had starred in previous productions from different companies. In her free time, Delilah likes to read, write, and daydream. She would like to thank her family and friends for their love and support, and everybody else working to make this happen!!
Miriam Dubner (Fairy Godmother, Blind Mouse #1, Duloc Performer & Featured Dancer)
Miriam is so excited to be in her first BHSDC performance. She is 13 and in 8th grade. Outside of theatre she enjoys playing sports, reading, dancing and playing piano. Most recently, Miriam was in the Cape Rep Theatre production of Waiting for Ham. She has made so many new friends during the Shrek performance and can't wait until next year. We hope you see us perform and enjoy the show!
Riveren Dubner (Gingy & Backstage Crew)
Riveren Dubner is 15 years old and plays the part of Gingy as well as helping in lights and sound with the crew. They have been acting since they were very little and singing for even longer. You may have seen them in Willy Wonka Jr. and Miracle on 34th street just before everything was closed down and they're so happy to get back into the swing of things! They love getting to know everyone and are so glad you were able to come and see the performance!! Have so much fun!
Hannah Dutra (Pit Musician - Violin 1)
Hannah is a junior at Barnstable High School. She plays violin in the Barnstable Orchestra and is a member of the “Mr.Maguire Fan Club” along with two other members. She’s thrilled to be a part of “Shrek the Musical” playing for the first time in the pit. Practice is life. Practice will never give you up, let you down, or run around and desert you ;)
Maytê Dutra (Duloc Performer & Ensemble)
Maytê has been in small musical productions at her local church in the past, but Shrek The Musical is her first school production. She enjoys singing, dancing, acting and watching musicals.
Liz Freedman (Bishop)
This is Ms. Freedman's debut performance. She is so very excited to be on the stage with all of our talented students in the first live performance in over 2 years! A huge thank you to Mrs. Barth, Ms. Lariviere, Ms. Wytrwal, Mr. Kohler, Mrs. Hill and all the wonderful family members who volunteered their time to make the magic happen.
Elizabeth Gayton (Duloc Performer & Ensemble)
Elizabeth went to the Hudson Valley Conservatory (owned by Samuel E. Wright, aka Sebastian the Crab, aka the original Mufasa for the Broadway production of The Lion King) where she started acting in musicals. Elizabeth has always loved music and theater, and is also in Rockapella at BIS. Elizabeth has been singing and acting since she was little.
Maggie Gayton (Mama Bear)
Maggie is a senior at BHS and excited to be doing her first show with the school. Maggie grew up surrounded by the arts from the age of 2 taking many classes from dance to instruments.
Audrey Gonzalez (Sets and Props Crew)
Audrey is an eighth grader at BHS. She enjoys painting and crafting so backstage crew is quite fun for her. Audrey likes to read, crochet, and bake. (She is basically a grandma.)
Elena Gonzalez (Teen Fiona, Duloc Performer & Featured Dancer )
Elena is in sixth grade at BIS. She enjoys singing and dancing with her friends. She is very excited to play the role of Teen Fiona in Shrek the Musical! She dances at Beth Walsh Dance Center, and has been dancing for six years.
Rocky La Belle (Shrek & Knight 4)
Rocky La Belle is a senior homeschooler in Barnstable. Shrek the Musical is his first musical as a lead actor. He’s been singing since he knew how to talk and has picked up guitar in recent years. It’s no surprise joining BHSDC has been a dream come true! He also enjoys performing at local open mic events and exploring the Cape’s musical community. He would especially like to thank his mom and dad for their support and encouragement.
Addie Leonard (Young Fiona)
Addie is a third grade student at BWB. Addie is an avid gymnast who loves to sing and dance with her friends. This will be her first performance on stage. She is thrilled to be part of this production and hopefully many more.
Lena Lindberg (Pinocchio, Duloc Performer & Featured Dancer)
As someone who hasn’t had much prior experience in theater, being in the club the past couple years has been such a blast! Lena has learned a lot, laughed a lot, and made a lot of friends. The entire cast and crew are super talented and they are all going to make this the best show it can be! One that Lena hopes everyone will enjoy!
Kimberly MacDonald (Duloc Performer & Ensemble)
Kimberly MacDonald goes by Kim for short! She is a 7th grade student at Barnstable Intermediate School.
Taylor MacDonald (Elf, Blind Mouse #1 & Featured Dancer)
Taylor MacDonald is a 14 year old 8th grader at Barnstable. Taylor loves drama club because it’s a place where she feels safe enough to express herself. BHSDC creates a family here and it’s incredible to be a part of. Taylor has 5 years of dance experience and 2 years of acting experience. Taylor loves reading, music, and surrounding herself with loving friends and family.
Ian Maguire (Papa Ogre & Knight 3)
Ian Maguire is in his fourth year teaching music here at BHS. He is a graduate of Bridgewater State University (‘18), Plymouth North High School (‘14), and is currently in his third year of pursuing his Masters in Music Education at the American Band College. Ian currently has the pleasure of teaching Guitar and String Orchestra here at the high school. This is the third musical production where Ian has assisted with preparing the student pit musicians for the show, but this is the first musical Ian has also had the honor of performing in with the BHSDC. He is incredibly excited for everyone to see the hard work these students have put in!
Isabella McCullough (Young Fiona)
Isabella is excited to be making her acting debut in musical theatre playing the role of Young Fiona. Isabella was born a performer, singing karaoke at 3 years old in front of family during holiday parties. Now at 9 years old she doesn’t miss an opportunity to dance around the house, compose cheer routines with friends, and sing with her favorite songs on the radio. Apart from performing, she enjoys swimming and karate. Isabella is a doting sister to her younger brother Angelo and cheers on her big brother during football and basketball games. She loves her family, including her mom, dad, aunts, uncle, and grandparents who have always encouraged her to be herself and reach for the stars.
Aidan McDowell (Captain of Farquaad's Guard)
Aiden is a junior at Barnstable High School. This is the second Shrek play he has been a part of.
Hailey Meizinger (Farquaad's Guard & Ensemble)
Hailey is a 13 year old 7th grader at Barnstable Intermediate School. She is super excited to be in the Musical!!
Sophie Mendoza (Stage Manager)
Sophie is the stage manager for Shrek. She loves bossing people around and she thinks this musical is cool.
Azriel Morassi (Lighting/Sound Crew)
This is Azriel's first performance and they are excited to be a part of many more in the future!
Bree Morin (Duloc Performer & Ensemble)
Bree Morin is a 12 years old cheerleader for 3CA Cape Cod Cheer Academy. She is a student at BIS and loves math. She has a brother and just got her babysitting license!
Michael Mulgrew (Knight #1)
Michael Mulgrew has been teaching in Barnstable for twenty eight years and has been in over a dozen performances here at Barnstable High School. He always takes a small role and his favorite plays were Grease, Little Shop of Horrors, The Sound of Music, Anything Goes, High School Musical, and now Shrek.
Laik O’Reilly (White Rabbit)
This is Laik’s second show and first musical performance. They are a sophomore at BHS and enjoy running and playing piano. Laik is very excited to be participating and would like to thank everyone involved in making the show possible.
Ellie O'Toole (Princess Fiona, Queen Lillian & Featured Dancer)
Ellie O'Toole is a junior that is thrilled to be back performing after Covid-19 shut BHSDC down. She's been a part of BHSDC since she was in 6th grade and has loved every single production she's been a part of. She'd like to thank all her family and friends that have supported her and the incredible cast, crew and directors!
Nora Penni (Pit Musician - Auxiliary Percussion)
Nora is a senior at BHS. She is very excited to be playing in the pit again as a percussionist. Though her main instrument is clarinet, she is having a good time learning many fun percussion instruments. Nora loves watching the actors on stage from the pit. She is very passionate about music, and loves the chance to be a part of a musical ensemble!
Will Penni (Lighting/Sound Crew)
Will is a freshman at BHS. This is his first year in the theater program and it’s already his favorite club he's been a part of. He got to meet a lot of new people, as well as learn a lot about the stages at the school. Will has always liked different forms of art so being a part of this production has been a privilege.
Jake Pillarella (Farquaard's Guard)
Jake is a 6th grader at BIS who loves playing sports such as baseball and football. He also enjoys cooking and hanging out with friends. Jake is excited to be in his first musical!
Robin Provost (Donkey & Bluebird)
Robin is a senior in their 5th year of the BHSDC and they’re super excited to be playing Donkey in Shrek the Musical. Some shows they’ve been in are Pippin, Silent Sky and Once Upon a Mattress. In their free time Robin likes to adopt underclassmen. They would like to thank the cast and crew for putting so much effort into making this show amazing, they would also like to thank Marcia Wytrwal for being so supportive and just an overall amazing teacher for all of their time at BHS.
Ellianna Ramos (Pinocchio & Duloc Performer)
Ellianna is a senior here at BHS. Ever since she saw the school's rendition of the Wizard of OZ, she’s loved theater. She’s been in shows at Cotuit Center for the Arts; Annie, Willy Wonka, and the Best Christmas Pageant ever. She’s also done Shrek the musical and Alice in Wonderland through other acting groups, along with different acting workshops. Her first show at BHS was High School Musical. She also loves to play sports which conflicted with being in the drama club, but since it’s her last year, she decided to audition for the show. Elli is a member of the National Honor Society, Vice President of the Community Empowerment and Leadership Club, and loves to spend her time helping the community with UKSD, roller skating, and playing the ukulele. She’s very excited to attend the University of Vermont in the fall of 2022 to pursue her dream of becoming a nurse. She would like to thank her mom, friends, and family for all of their immense support!
Lily Raposo (Baby Bear, Duloc Performer & Blind Mice #1)
Lily is a very artistic person. She loves to read and is also very competitive. She chose to do drama club because she thought it would be fun, and a way to learn a bit more about theater! Lily also plays the clarinet, and has been playing for 4 years now. Tacos, lemonade, and strawberry-frosted donuts with sprinkles are her favorite foods.
Gracelin Roughneen (Duloc Greeter, Duloc Performer & Ensemble)
Gracelin Roughneen is a 12 year old 7th grader at Barnstable Intermediate School and very excited to be a part of Shrek the Musical!
Lucy Sherman (Peter Pan & Farquaad's Guard)
Lucy Sherman is a sophomore at BHS and this is her second musical. Lucy joined the drama club because it is a great place to express yourself and have fun and meet amazing new people. Lucy joined with her friends, Maddy and Olivia. When she's not rehearsing for Shrek the Musical, she is either working hard in school, reading books, sleeping or hanging out with her friends and family.
Avery Storie (Farquaad's Guard)
Avery is a 6th grade student with a cat named Tango. She is glad to be in Shrek, and she hopes you enjoy it!
Jordan Thibeau (Backstage, Props & Sets)
Jordan is a freshman here at BHS. She is super excited to be a part of the BHSDC for the first time and to work with the amazing people of this club! She enjoys participating in the BHS Concert Chorale and would like to give a special thank you to Dj Wytty (Ms. Wytrwal) for being the best teacher and role model that anyone could ask for :) and to the cast, crew and creative directors of this show.
Olivia Thompson (Sugar Plum Fairy, Blind Mouse #3 & Featured Dancer)
Olivia is 15 and a Sophomore at Barnstable High School. She has been acting since she was eight. Her most recent roles include Winnie Foster in Tuck Everlasting and Briar Rose in Sleeping Beauty: Briar Rose at Cape Cod Theatre Company, Minihata in Over A Barrel, which was a radio show with Cape Noir Radio, and she recently was in a performance with the Young Company (YoCo) at Cape Rep Theatre. Apart from acting she enjoys singing, reading and writing, and fashion design. She is so excited to be acting on stage again! Enjoy the show!
Keely Touhey (Sugar Plum Fairy & Blind Mouse #3)
Keely is a freshman at BHS and they are so excited to be a part of this production! This is their first time being in a BHSDC production. They participate in Vocal Jazz and Concert Chorale. Keely also performed with Barnstable Intermediate School in Willy Wonka Jr. and was in the cast for Annie Jr. before it was canceled due to Covid-19. They have enjoyed working with all of the lovely actors in this show, and would like to give a big thanks to the crew and the directors for making this show possible!
Sage Touhey (Lord Farquaad)
Sage is a junior and is acting for the first time in the BHSDC. Previous shows they worked on include SFX for Dracula: The Radio Play, lead painter in Pippin, and lead artist in Once Upon a Mattress. Sage plans to pursue theater as a career to fuel their love of the arts; though their acting skills will forever be utilized in Dungeons and Dragons. If anyone agrees on one thing, it’s that it’s a miracle they haven’t fallen off stage yet.
Nariah Turner (The Wicked Witch)
Nariah is an 8th grader student at BHS. Shrek is her first performance for the BHSDC. She likes to spend time with her family and friends, act, sing, draw, or do anything to be creative. She is very excited for everyone to see this show that the drama club has been working very hard on.
Haylie Voravong (Duloc Performer & Ensemble)
Haylie is a 7th grade student at BIS. She plays the violin and sings in chorus. This is Haylie's first musical and she is looking forward to being in more!
Eamon Welch-Viens (Prop Master, Stage Crew)
Eamon is a 17-year-old junior at BHS, and has been doing Drama Club at BHS on and off since 2011. Most of Eamon's experience is in set building and props.
Ray Whiteley (Duloc Performer & Ensemble)
Ray likes to draw, and anything related to art. They have been in two performances, one: The Gingerbread Man, and the other (that was never actually performed): The Little Mermaid.
Garrett Wiseman (Shrek & Knight 4)
Garrett Wiseman is so excited to finally be back on stage after the last 2 years. He was set to play Prince Dauntless in Once Upon Mattress. He has been a member of the Barnstable Drama Club since 2015 during The Frog Prince Of Spamalot. He would like to thank his parents, sister Julia, brother Andrew, and best friends Sean and Alessandra for their constant support.
Maggie Doherty (Set & Prop Design Crew)
Maggie was a very avid watcher of Shrek when she was young and most likely forced her family to watch it with her! She enjoys making art and creating things in general so she's very happy to be part of the backstage crew of Shrek!
Morgan Grey (Pit Musician - Auxiliary Percussion)
Morgan Grey teaches in the World Languages department at BHS, and is delighted to be involved with the BHSDC. In the past, Ms. Grey has helped with set construction here and at her previous school in Colorado, including designing and building a set for Shrek the Musical. Ms. Grey is excited to make her professional debut in the pit, and thanks Mrs. Barth, Ms. Lariviere, Ms. Wytral, Mrs. Hill, Mr. Maguire, and Mr. Schroeter for giving her the opportunity to practice and play percussion.
Hannah Jensen (Pit Musician - Cello)
Hannah has been playing cello since 5th grade, but this is the first musical she has ever played in. It has been a super fun experience and she hopes everyone enjoys the show!
Daniel Maldonado (Thelonius & Guard)
This is Daniel’s first play. He expects it will be fun. Daniel likes to do art, painting is his favorite. Drama club is the best!
