Flamenco Granaíno, an original Pure Flamenco Work by Ilisa Rosal, was created in collaboration with Javier Martos, Artistic Director of Ballet Flamenco de Granada, guitarist Alvaro Perez Alvarez, singer Alicia Morales and dancer Eloy Aguilar from Granada, along with Miami-based dancers and choreographers Irene “La Chiqui de Malaga”, Mayelu Perez, “La Emi” and Sandra Baras.

Ballet Flamenco La Rosa (BFLR) announces the premiere of its latest project Flamenco Granaíno an original Pure Flamenco Work by Ilisa Rosal, created in collaboration with Javier Martos, Artistic Director of Ballet Flamenco de Granada. Individual excerpts will be available to watch online on Facebook and YouTube September 16th through September 25th, 2021. The entire work will be available on the streaming platform On the Stage on September 26th through September 29th, 2021.

Led by the world-renowned master teacher, choreographer, soloist and Artistic Director Ilisa Rosal, this work presents the spellbinding and earthy power of authentic Flamenco dance at its best. With its spectacular footwork, precise athleticism and vibrant energy, the performances are at once sensual and spiritual, raw and refined, and filled with both restrained passion and electrifying release – making it a powerful and passionate language of expression. These productions will incorporate music created, arranged and recorded by guitarist Alvaro Pérez Alvarez and singer Alicia Morales in Granada, Spain in collaboration with the dancers and choreographers to create this extraordinary project.

Born in Medieval Andalucía (southern Spain), in the Middle Ages, when Europeans, Arabs, Jews, Gypsies, and Africans co-existed in a Golden Age of art and learning, this art form has fascinated writers, poets, composers, painters, sculptors, choreographers, and audiences for centuries. It has developed into one of the most respected and cherished music and dance forms, evolving into the highest level of technique and artistic expression that has led to it being declared a World Heritage Treasure by UNESCO.
