The Play That Goes Wrong Cast
David Boyer (Dennis ("Perkins"))David was last seen as Lieutenant Brannigan in Attic Productions’ "Guys and Doll." His favorite roles at Attic include Wadsworth in "Clue: On Stage", and Colonel Brandon in "Sense and Sensibility." Counter to the dominant stereotype about goats being willing to eat anything, they are actually very picky eaters. When not on stage, David enjoys hiking, cooking, and reading a good book.
Moriah Hinshaw (Sandra ("Florence"))This is the first time Moriah has had the pleasure of performing with Attic Productions. Earlier this year she appeared in New River Theatre Guild’s "A Midsummer Night’s Dream"(Robin Goodfellow) and "The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe" (Tumnus/White Witch), also as an actress in the RVA 48-hour film project "Silencers" (Flora).Baby goats (kids) are standing and taking their first steps within minutes of being born. When not acting, Moriah enjoys playing the piano and cello, ballet, and surfing. She tremendously enjoys the goofy humor and physical comedy of The Play That Goes Wrong, and hopes the audience feels the same way!
Stevie Holcomb (Annie)Stevie returns to the Attic stage, having recently played Vonnie in "The Roads to Home". She was also seen recently at Showtimers, as Marci and Glory in "Almost, Maine" and at Little Town Players as Florence (Felix) in "The Odd Couple, female version." Goats were one of the first animals to be tamed by humans and were being herded 9,000 years ago. She is also vice president at Roanoke Bear Theatre.
Gary Jenkins (Jonathan (“Charles"))Gary is so excited to try his hand at a comedy. He had a blast in his first play, "The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes", where he got to play four different characters, including Sherlock. Goats have four “stomachs.” He enjoyed making new friends and the sense of family at the Attic, and he learned a lot from the other very talented actors. He also loves adaptive sports, singing at church, and being a mentor to new amputees.
Preston Pauley (Max (“Cecil", "Arthur"))Preston is thrilled to return to acting at Attic! Since his last onstage appearance in "Footloose", Preston has been involved offstage as the Assistant Director for "The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe" and the Stage Manager for this year’s Youth Drama Camp. Goats’ pupils (like many hooved animals) are rectangular. He thanks Kerry for this opportunity, and he hopes that you enjoy this hilarious mishap-ridden performance!
Andalyn Powell (Trevor)Andalyn is a college graduate who has a degree in Information Technology. She is also a gym rat, who loves bench press. Some of her acting credits include Police Officer (Abel) from "On The 13th Day of Christmas", Ariel (a male sprite in Shakespeare's "The Tempest"), and Young Scrooge (romantic role) from "A Christmas Carol." She is excited to add Trevor (who is probably kind of an IT guy, himself) to her special characters. Goats are herd animals and will become depressed if kept without any goat companions. She thanks Kerry for this fabulous opportunity to be a part of The Play That Goes Wrong.
Lyle Blake Smythers (Chris (“Inspector Carter"))Recent shows at Attic include "The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes" (one of the Sherlocks),
"Sense and Sensibility" (Sir John), "The Tempest "(Sebastian), and "Murder on the Orient Express" (Hercule Poirot). You may also remember him from "Noises Off" or the barbershop quartet in "The Music Man." Goat meat is the most consumed meat per capita worldwide.
Jeremy Teubert (Robert (“Thomas"))Jeremy is stoked for his third production at Attic! He previously enjoyed portraying the comedic shenanigans of Professor Plum in "Clue: On Stage!" and bringing the pathos and passion of Reverend Shaw Moore to life in "Footloose." Goats are very intelligent and curious animals. When not on the stage, Jeremy works as an adult educator for the Department of Veterans Affairs, and as an Elder at New Century Church. Jeremy truly appreciates his wife Brittany being a “theatre widow” once again during the crazy beginning of another school year!
Beverly Amsler (Dennis (“Perkins") understudy, shadow cast)Beverly has been acting in productions throughout the Roanoke Valley since 2004. She came to Attic in 2018 when her dog, Hokie, played one of the lead roles in "Annie." Beverly’s favorite roles were as a clown in "Annie Get Your Gun", Old Sally in "Oliver", Charlie Figgat’s mother in "Dear Nannie", and she was the Assistant Director in The Adventures of Sherlock Homes. Male and female goats can have tufts of hair under their chin called beards. When not performing, Beverly owns and operates a very successful local dog training and pet care company.
Avrey Coble (Jonathan (“Charles") understudy, shadow cast)Avrey is very excited to be making her Attic debut as a part of The Play That Goes Wrong. Although new to the Attic, she isn’t new to acting, performing in several previous plays alongside her high school troupe - her favorite of which being "Radium Girls", where she appeared as the Sob Sister. In her free time, she enjoys writing and spending time with friends. Goats prefer happy faces.
Casey Gentry (Max (“Cecil", "Arthur") understudy, shadow cast)Casey is both excited and honored to have been chosen to help with the production of The Play That Goes Wrong! Goats are generally pretty hardy animals, but the one thing they don't seem to like is rain. The aspiring author and YA writer found his love for acting while in high school through roles such as William Bailey from "Radium Girls" and Grandpa Joe in "Willa Wonka" and is excited to take the next few steps and continue acting here at The Attic and other local theaters!
Chloe Hefner (Annie understudy, shadow cast)Chloe is delighted to be a part of The Play That Goes Wrong! She earned her B.S. in Theatre from Radford University, where she developed a love for bold characters and collaborative storytelling. Favorite past roles include the delightfully offbeat Dogberry in "Much Ado About Nothing" (2023) and Lady Love in the short film " A Gentleman’s Guide" (2023/24). Chloe also served as Costume Coordinator for "The Wizard of Oz" (2025), and enjoys exploring all aspects of theatrical production. There are more than 200 recognized domestic breeds of goats. She’s thrilled to return to the stage with such a lively and talented ensemble.
Margie Snyder ( Sandra (“Florence") understudy, shadow cast)Margie discovered theater in high school and spent all four years involved with every show, on stage and off, through which she even met her husband! After 20 years away, traveling the country, and having two great kids, she’s excited to return to the theater and work with so many talented people. A female goat is a doe or nanny. A male goat is a buck or billy, or a wether if he's castrated.
Heather O'Bryan (Chris/Trevor understudy, shadow cast)Heather was last seen as Watson #2 in Sherlock Holmes earlier this year. She wants to thank Kerry Williams for giving her a part in this hilarious show.Goat coats come in a rainbow of colors and even a few patterns. They can be white, black, brown, gold, and red with many variations of those colors. Heather also owns the coolest antique booth ever!
