Abby Brewster (Beverly Serio Edwards)
Beverly Serio Edwards is thrilled to be back on stage again! This is the first time she has worked with ASoB, and she thanks everyone for welcoming her with open arms. By day, Bev is the Lower School Librarian at Roland Park Country School. Over the years, she has taught drama and directed plays and musicals on the middle and upper school levels. Last summer, she was delighted to serve as Camp Director for the Children’s Playhouse of Maryland. Bev’s favorite roles include Dolly in HELLO, DOLLY and the Narrator in JOSEPH AND THE AMAZING TECHNICOLOR DREAMCOAT. Bev has two adult children, Tess and Luke, who are very dear to her. She would like to thank the family and friends who encouraged her to dip her toe back into the “acting waters” again after all these years!
Martha Brewster (Marianne Sohn)
This is Marianne's first appearance on the ASoB stage, where she is so excited to be playing the role of Martha Brewster. Marianne has also appeared in "Camelot" as Lady Anne/Ensemble, and in a 48 Hour film project, "The Future," as Rihanna Calvert. Marianne inherited her life-long love of theatre from her father, Paul Hester. She'd like to dedicate her performance in "Arsenic and Old Lace" to her husband, Bob Sohn, who she deems "still the best thing that ever happened to me!"
Officer O'Hara & Dead Bodies (Cory Bauer)
Cory is thrilled to return to the ASoB stage! His most recent appearance was as Henry Bloom in “In the Nick of Time.” He has also been seen in ASoB’s productions of “The Wedding Singer,” “A WWII Radio Christmas,” and “Guys and Dolls.” He would like to dedicate this performance to the director, Sarah, and he’d like to thank his friends and family for their continued support. Now, you gotta hear the plot!
Lieutenant Rooney (LeVar Betts)
LeVar Betts is a native of Mitchellville, MD. He majored in music at Bowie State University where he studied piano performance and piano accompaniment with Mr. William Neal. Mr. Betts has also served as music director in various community theater productions including The Color Purple, The Wiz, Pearls and Diamonds, (Tantallon Community Players) and a Soulful Christmas (Winters Lane Productions), Ain’t Misbehavin (The Vagabond Players), Lady Day: At Emerson’s Bar and Grill (Spotlighters). LeVar Betts is happy to part of the Arsenic and Old Lace family at ASOB.
Teddy Brewster (Mike DeNicolis)
This is technically Mike’s first play in several years with Artistic Synergy of Baltimore. Mike’s previous shows here include a Harvey, where he played the right-hand man of Doctor Chumley, Joseph…Dreamcoat as the treacherous brother Judah, Bye Bye Birdie, as a lonesome Shriner, Oklahoma, as the ranch man Ike Skidmore, in WW@ Radio Christmas he played a radio personality, in The Wedding Singer, amongst other things, a Billy Idol impersonator. He has had a wonderful time with the cast and crew and definitely hopes to work with them again. Alright, the only thing left to say is sit back, relax, and enjoy the show!!!
Dr. Einstein (Michael Maistros)
Michael is thrilled to be back on stage after a two-year deployment to Afghanistan as an Army Civilian. Michael comes to us by way of Hollywood and Las Vegas where he wrote for the sit-com “She’s the Sheriff” and wrote the Excalibur Hotel’s first show which ran for nine years: “The King Arthur Tournament”. His favorite shows as a performer include LaFue in “Beauty & the Beast”, Nicely Nicely Johnson in “Guys & Dolls”, and Rueben in “Joseph…” with The Suburban Players; MST’s productions of “Shrek”, “Young Frankenstein”, and “… Forum”; and DCT’s production of “Chess”.
Rev. Dr. Harper/Mr. Witherspoon/Mr. Gibbs (Jim Morgan)
Jim is happy to be back on stage at ASoB after directing "In the Nick of Time." He has been involved in community theater for over 25 years. Last seen on stage in "Guys and Dolls." He has enjoyed working with this talented cast and has been excited to have witnessed Sarah O’Hara’s daily growth as a director. And as always he would like to thank Chris for her constant support and Emily for all of this theater nonsense.
Elaine Harper (Jennifer Otero)
Jennifer Otero is thrilled to be back working with Artistic Synergy of Baltimore and especially to be playing opposite her husband, Lou. She assures everyone that he is more than “adequate” even if he isn’t a “critic”! Her last show, before the Pandemic was A Chorus Line which has always been a bucket list show. Favorite rolls include: Sally in You’re a Good Man Charlie Brown, Gloria Rasputin in Bye, Bye Birdie, dancer in Chorus Line, Clarice in West Side Story and Miss Krumholtz in How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying. When not performing, she can be found at her job as an Administrative Assistant at Friends School, working on her grad school courses online at Drexel University and running 5Ks! As always, for Mom.
Mortimer Brewster (Lou Otero)
Lou is thrilled to be returning to the ASOB stage with such a talented cast. Some of his favorite roles include Oliver in Puffs (ASOB), Col Matterson in One Flew Over the Cuckoos Nest (Spotlighters), Back half of cow in Gypsy (Cockpit in Court), and Pirate in Pirates of Penzance (Suburban Players). When not involved in shows he enjoys napping in the sun and getting snacks throughout the day. He wants to send thanks and love to his wife Jenn because without her none of this would be possible.
Jonathan Brewster (Christopher Pence)
Chris is excited to be a part of the Arsenic & Old Lace cast at ASoB. He hopes you enjoy the show.
Officer Brophy (Bryan Brown)
Bryan is a resident of Baltimore, Maryland. He has done multiple shows within the DMV area. This his debut show with Artistic Synergy of Baltimore. He’s grateful for the cast, production and everyone who works behind the scenes.
Officer Klein (Chloe Scully)
Chloe Scully (they/them) is very excited to be performing with Artistic Synergy of Baltimore (for the sixth time!) in Arsenic & Old Lace. They made their community theatre debut in the fall of 2018 and have been performing locally ever since. When not on stage, they are busy running D&D campaigns, reading, and working at the library. Chloe thanks their fellow cast and crewmates, as well as their friends and family for all the support they have shown them. Break a leg, everyone!
