Steel Magnolias Cast

Lydia West (Truvy)
Lydia West grew up loving the screen adaptation of Steel Magnolias and is still beside herself to be playing a role that means so much to her at a theatre that means as much. She recently reprised her favorite role to date as “Camae” in The Mountaintop, for which she has been nominated for a WATCH Award. Lydia has been acting, singing, and directing in Baltimore and DMV over 13 years, and serves on the board for Artistic Synergy of Baltimore (ASoB). Other favorite recent acting credits include: “Charlaine” in Ain’t Misbehavin’ (ASoB), "Gertrude" in Hamlet (Arena Players), and "Xavia Jones" in PUFFS (ASoB). Recent directing credits include: ASoB's performances of Captain Hook: My Story…, and she currently serves as Theatre Sponsor at Randallstown High School. As always, she is so appreciative of the support from Scott and Lukas in all of her endeavors! Love you both so much!
Brittany Erica (Annelle)
Brittany Martin is happy to come back to Artistic Synergy of Baltimore. With her last project playing Antigone at ASOB, Britt felt the growth doing more theater. Britt has performed other roles onstage such as Samiya Cannon in The Gift of Family, Laura Baker in Whose Wives Are They Anyway, Frances in Five Women wearing the Same Dress, and Saint Monica in The Last Days of Judas Iscariot. She is most notable for her re-enactment of local African American figures with the local community. She has the recurring role of Edmonia Highgate, the first black teacher at the Hosanna School located in Darlington, MD. Brittany can’t take all the praise as she is thankful for the massive support, from family and friends, for believing in her God given gift.

Beverly Serio Edwards (Ouiser)
Bev is thrilled to be back on the ASoB stage for a second time! She played the role of Abby Brewster in Arsenic and Old Lace here two years ago. After being a part of the Baltimore theater scene in her younger days (often in old lady roles), Bev returned to the stage a few years ago in parts somewhat closer to her current age, such as Mother Burnside in Mame and the Nanny/Nurse in Zelda. By day, Bev is the Lower School Librarian at Roland Park Country School, and during her nearly 40 years as an educator, she has directed numerous musicals and plays for both middle and high school students. Her all-time favorite theatrical experience was playing the first ever female narrator in Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat. Bev loves to take day trips to see Broadway shows in NYC, and she is well-known for her love of the “Harries” (Potter and Styles). She would like to thank Jim Morgan and the rest of the Steel Magnolias gang with the best line in the play: “I love you more than my luggage!”
Chloe Scully (Clairee - 3/17 performance)
Chloe Scully is very excited to be making his community theatre directorial debut with Artistic Synergy's "Steel Magnolias". He made his community theatre debut with ASOB in the fall of 2018 and has been performing locally ever since. When not on stage, he is busy running D&D campaigns, reading, serving on his union's board, and working at the library. Chloe thanks the cast and crew, as well as his loved ones for all the support they have shown him. Break a leg, everyone!
