Shrek The Musical Jr. Cast
Endy Andrahi (Shrek)Shrek will be played by Greg Emmanuel, though more lovingly known as Endy. This is their second year teaching at tech and is no stranger to the Cindy Lewis Hartshorn stage. A 2010 tech grad, Endy spent plenty of time in all of the musical ensembles and stage productions in their tenure here. Now back, teaching choir and piano, they're overjoyed to be giving back to the program where it all started.
Tim Jones (Donkey)This is Coach Jones 20th year here at Arsenal Tech and he has appeared in the ATHS Staff Musical every year that a production has taken place. Coach Jones is a Math Teacher and serves as the Boys Cross Country and Track and Field Coach. Coach Jones and his wife Connie have been married for 21 years and they enjoy raising their pets. Prior roles that Coach Jones has played include, Danny Zuko in Grease, Prince Charming in Cinderella, Cat in the Hat in Seussical, Drake the Butler in Annie, Tin Man in Wizard of Oz (twice), Ferris Buehler in Ferris Buehler's Day Off, Hugo in Bye Bye Birdie and in the one of the roles that he enjoyed the most, he sang in the Barbershop Quartet in the Music Man. Coach Jones is an avid golfer and enjoys supporting Indy sports teams and especially the Purdue Boilermakers. Boiler Up…
Elizabeth Barrett (Fiona)pril is a third grade teacher just down the street at Thomas Gregg Neighborhood School. She agreed to step in to help support the faculty and staff this year as we all navigate COVID. April is familiar with the Tech stage as an ATHS alum. During her time at Tech she performed in numerous musicals and was a member of the Technicians Performance Choir, Tech Choir, and Tech Band. She is married to Isaac Adams and is mother to Cora (not featured) and Elise Adams.
Shanelle Williams (Teen Fiona)Shanelle Williams is 17 years old and is a junior here at ATHS! She plays Teen Fiona as well as being a Makeup Designer. She spends her free time signing, cooking, and watching Youtube!
Elise Adams (Young Fiona, Little Ogre)Elise Adams (5) is excited to be on the Tech stage again. Last year she made her stage debut as the Elephant Bird in Seussical Jr. This year she plays Young Shrek and Young Fiona. She is the oldest daughter of Isaac and April Adams. In her free time, Elise loves to dance, sing, create art, explore nature, and play with her younger sister, Cora. Elise is in pre-k at Daystar childcare.
Irene Guggenheim-Triana (Lord Farquaad)Irene Guggenheim-Triana is very excited for her first Faculty Musical, is even more excited that said musical is Shrek, and is the most excited to play the OG short king Lord Farquaad. On campus, Ms. G-T serves as the Assistant Band Director, where she teaches the percussion and piano classes, the beginning woodwind students, and the Fine Arts Connections course. After school, she teaches the Jazz Lab, assists with the All-City Color Guard, and serves as an instructor for the IPS All-City Marching Band. She would like to give a special shoutout to M for flying all the way out from Maryland for this nonsense <3
Angela Smith (Dragon)Angela Smith is one of our fantastic deans, supporting Culture and Climate for our 9th Graders in the Freshmen Academy. Dean Smith has been at Arsenal Tech for 5 years. This is her first faculty musical!
Isaac Adams (Pinocchio)Mr. Isaac Adams is an engineering teacher. This is Mr. Adams’ 5th faculty musical; he has notably starred as Buddy the Elf (2017), Cinderella’s Prince in Into the Woods (2020), and Ferris Bueller in, well, Ferris Bueller (2021). Isaac was heavily invested in the music programs and starred in many on-stage performances and ensembles during his time as a student on campus. Now that he is a teacher, he happily serves on the faculty musical committee. The faculty musical is one of Isaac’s most cherished Tech traditions and he enjoys the many opportunities to build relationships and community with his fellow staff members.
Josh Goodman (Gingy) Josh Goodman is the band teacher at Arsenal Technical High School.. This is his second year in the ATHS staff musical, but in high school he had the star role of The Phantom in their production of The Phantom of the Opera. This is his eighth year of teaching and he recently completed his administration licensure. When he is not acting, teaching, or going to school; Josh enjoys cycling and motorcycles.
Kesiena Willis (Mama Ogre, Wicked Witch)Kesiena Willis is the Basic Skills Teacher at Arsenal Technical High School for grades 10-12. She is proud to be joining her colleagues in her second staff theatre production. This is her sixth year of teaching, starting as a choir teacher and then transitioning to Special Education. She is a creative soul who loves music, which led her to pursue a baccalaureate degree in Sacred Music. She has participated in productions such as Grease, Into the Woods, Upon This Rock, and an independent film called, “Broken Silence” among many others. When she is not teaching, she spends her free time as an Independent Artist singing, contracting her gifts as a Worship Leader and Workshop Facilitator at churches, traveling, and seeing what this world has to offer.
Edric Mitchell (Papa Ogre)Mr. Mitchell teaches Theatre and directs the school’s show choir, Technicians, and an a capella group, Titan Harmony. When he is not at Tech, Edric spends time traveling and performing around the world with his very own a cappella group, Impromptu. Mr. Mitchell has been involved in the staff Musical every year since his arrival in 2016. He loves working with his students in theatre and choir, and always pushes them to be the best versions of themselves that they’d want to be.
Elvia Solis (Storyteller 1)Ms. Solis is a dedicated teacher in the Science Department at Arsenal Tech High School. When she is not acting, she can be found working in her classroom laboratory, or off traveling to somewhere sunny. She loves Pacers basketball and spending time with her current and former ATHS family.
Jenn Flynn (Storyteller 2)Ms .Flynn teaches ELA, and has been a teacher for IPS for 6 years. She has participated in the staff productions every year since she started at Tech. For the past three years, she has served on the faculty musical committee; and loves getting to help make these productions a reality. She also loves reading, planning her next travel adventure, and spending time with her family. Her favorite part about the staff productions is laughing with her colleagues and driving her two sons crazy by singing the songs from the musicals in the car for many weeks both before and after opening night
Heidi Heil (Storyteller 3)Mrs. Heil is the SIOP Instructional Coach here at Arsenal Tech. This is her fourth year at Tech, and her fourth year participating in the staff productions. She was an avid participant in theater growing up, and loves being able to be a part of this long-standing tradition!
Aigner Blade (Peter Pan)Dean Blade serves as the Dean for Cohort 2024. She supports the P.E. / Health department. She has taught Social Studies and ELA for over 15 years. She loves being a second year, Tech Titan Administrator. She enjoys running and dancing, spending time with her church family, and vacationing with her husband and their five (5) children.
Kevin Sanchez (Big Bad Wolf)Mr. Sanchez is our CTE Specialist helping out students in construction and welding. This is his 2nd year teaching at tech and is an alumni from tech graduating in 2018. He was involved in multiple plays and musicals during his time and is now helping out building sets and props for the musicals that come.
Sarah Newsom (Mama Bear)Sarah Newsom first taught at Tech from 2001-2007 and was delighted to participate in several staff musicals including Oklahoma, Grease, Once Upon a Mattress, and The Wizard of OZ. After a break from teaching to be a SAHM Mrs. Newsom is happy to be back at Tech for a fourth year as the director of Indiana GEAR UP programs. Mrs. Newsom enjoys traveling, spending time with her family, and doing algebra. Sarah will be playing a Who in this performance, and would like to thank all the amazing staff and students who worked together to put this show on, as well as her own children who tolerated her practice at home.
Patrick Kennison (Papa Bear)Mr. Patrick Kennison is one of our Assistant Principals at Tech. He oversees Student Services and this is his 5th year at Arsenal Tech. This is also Mr. Kennison’s first Faculty Musical! You’ll find Mr. Kennison on-stage this evening starring as Papa Bear.
Gretchen Wagner (Pig 1)Gretchen Wagner is a science teacher at Arsenal Technical High School. This is her first year participating in the faculty musical. This is her 27th year teaching science. When she is not working, she enjoys gardening and traveling to Florida to deep sea fish. She dedicates this performance to her daughter Shelby who encouraged her to try new things.
Christin Hoyt (Pig 2)Christin D. Hoyt - The faculty musical is always so good for my soul. I have played an orphan in Annie, a citizen of Oz in The Wizard of Oz, a parade attendee in Ferris Bueller’s Day Off, and a hippo in Seussical. Each production has given me new friends and countless laughs. A lifetime of thanks to my Gramma (Marge Dickie) for exposing me to musical theater as a child and inspiring me to be a high school teacher. Shout out to Ms. H for starting this grand tradition way back in the ‘90’s. Much gratitude for Issac, April, Edric, and Endy and their dedication to keeping the musical alive. Gretchen, Ted, Jody and Erin - you rock for joining the cast this year! All my love to Brian, Jack, and Reverie Hoyt.
Moriah Long (Pig 3)Ms. Seifert teaches animal science and agribusiness management. This is her first-year teaching at Arsenal Technical High School. She had the great opportunity to complete her student teaching at Arsenal Technical High School spring of 2021. She looked forward to participating in the staff productions because it provides her with the chance to meet the other great staff from the campus. She is looking forward to the countless memories she will make from teaching and participating in the musicals with staff here at Tech.
Emily Ballenger (Puss n’ Boots)Emily Ballenger is a sophomore. She loves acting, building sets, and sports. She has been in Drama Club since her Freshman year. She is currently currently in Drama, ACE, Volleyball, Softball, FBLA, and more
Ted Collins (Captain of the Guard)Comrade Ted Collins teaches Speech and Debate. He is a cyclist, a comic, and a music man who strives to abide by Roberts' Rules of Order. Mr. Collins is not mad, he has passion.
Jon Little (Dwarf)Mr. Little teaches Visual Arts and has taught at Tech for 14 years for a total of 16 years teaching for IPS. This is his 5th year for the staff musical. Previous roles were as a Rydell Boy in Grease, then a named role as the Mysterious Man (totally typecast) in Into the Woods. His other credits include acting as a Rugby Coach at Tech (2010-16) and marrying “Annie” from the 2017 staff musical. “It took me many years to join the Staff Musical. I am no thespian, and you don't want to hear my enthusiastic voice...but the staff musical is a Tech Tradition unlike any anywhere else. It is such a joy to see your colleagues in their element, singing, acting, and dancing. It's a wonderful way to meet co-workers in a fun environment.”
Katie Shimer (Unicorn)This is Shimer's fourth appearance in a faculty musical, she's been in The Wizard of Oz, Grease, Seussical the Musical, and now Shrek the Musical in what might be her favorite role yet—an ugly duckling unicorn. This is her 17th year at Tech, which is impressive for a thirty-year-old. When she's not writing bad copy for her autobiography, Shimer enjoys crafting (check out her impressive glitter use and striking, gilded horn), reading all of the books, hanging out with her tiny book club, taking road trips, going to concerts, and window shopping online. During school hours you can find her in Morgan Hall teaching Creative Writing and Film Literature. She's fierce, she's funny, she procrastinates, and there's no lie in her fire. She's a big girl with a big voice (maybe next year she'll try for a singing part). Her Christmas wishes include a new world order in public education, a stronger teachers' union, some cross-campus harmony, a deeper sense of comradery on Tech's campus, and a kitten (or a book deal).
Crishell Sam (Pied Piper)Crishell Sam is one of our Assistant Principals and is currently serving as Interim Principal. This is Ms. Sam’s sixth year at Arsenal Tech. Shrek is Ms. Sam’s second performance in a faculty musical; she had a fantastic cameo as a Hunter in Seussical last year.
Jody McCormick (Baby Bear)Jody McCormick teachers English 10 and English 10 honors. She has been a thespian since 2009, but this is her first time joining the ATHS Faculty musical. Her favorite role was Grandma Georgina in "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory." She would like to thank her friends and family who have come to support the ATHS Fine Arts Department. Mrs. McCormick also gives a shout out to her students, especially those who will directly benefit from extra funds to support their Fine Arts passions. After all, programs like these create memories for students that will shape their character and linger in their hearts for a lifetime.
Cheryl Liggins (Knight 1)Mrs. Liggins has worked at Arsenal Tech High School for 15 years. Throughout those years she worked in many different positions on campus. For the last 8 years she has been a Behavioral Adjustment Facilitator. In her spare time Mrs. Liggins likes to relax, read, watch movies, dance, skate, create art, and eat. Her favorite thing to do is spend time with her grandchildren and the rest of her family. This is Mrs. Liggins’ final time being in a Tech Staff Musical/Movie. She enjoys having the opportunity to socialize with her co-workers and have fun.
Erin Von Knauer (Knight 2)Miss von Knauer teaches English 11 and English 12 at ATHS, and is a 7th year teacher. She has teaching experience in both high school and college classrooms, and before coming to Tech was teaching at IUPUI while earning her Master’s degree. When she isn’t in the classroom or singing backup to dragons, she’s walking her two dogs around the city, writing, and reading. Since this is her first year at Tech this is also her first year participating in the staff musical.
Georard Mitchell (Knight 3)Georard Mitchell is one of our deans. This is Georard’s first year back at Tech after serving at Crispus Attucks as a dean for a few years. Dean Mitchell has participated in the faculty musical several times over the past 8 years. He has been Santa in Elf, Daddy Warbucks in Annie, and his personal favorite, Roger aka Rump in the show Grease.
