Yanece Cotto (Stormé DeLarverie)
Yanece (they/them) is a native New Yorker with a deep passion for the betterment of youth and communities through education, sports, theater and arts education. They are thrilled and honored to bring Stormé DeLarverie to life in this production of the musical play “STORME.” A versatile and skilled performer, Yanece has previously been seen on stage as Beneatha in “A Raisin in the Sun,” Nina in “In the Heights,” Judas in “Godspell,” and Tia Moune in “Once On This Island.” They also have appeared on screen in “Out of Breath.” As a non-binary performer, they have never felt more at home telling a story on stage. Yanece is deeply grateful to the creative team for this amazing opportunity to get back on stage and help tell this incredible story.
Asha Devi (Diana Prasad/TV News Reporter)
Asha (she/her) is an Indo-Caribbean artist and educator based in NYC. She is a graduate of The Experimental Theatre Wing at NYU Tisch and also trained at NYFA, The Terry Knickerbocker Studio, and the Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute. Asha teaches Devised Theatre with The Peoples' Theatre Project and performs in anti-harassment training with Interactive Advocacy. She serves as a dramaturg for New York Theatre Company's production of “Machinal” at Manhattan Theater Club and is an ensemble member of The Rising Sun Performance Company. She was nominated for Best Performer in an Off-Off-Broadway Play for her work in “The Leading Lady Club.” Asha thanks the Stormé creative team, her husband for his unwavering support and her son for all the joy and inspiration he brings each day.
Antonyio Artis (Billy Strayhorn/NOLA Man/Joe)
Antonyio (he/him) is a multi-faceted storyteller who graduated with a BFA in Acting from Brooklyn College. He is currently a mentee in the inaugural mentorship cohort at the Actor Center and trained with the Atlantic Theater this past summer. His solo show "Tariq's Interlude" is making its world premiere this year and he produced three short play-to-film adaptations last year. Credits include "Stormé" (Playwright Horizons Downtown), "Project Sankofa" (Broadway Bound Festival), "New Jack City" (National Tour), "Underground" (NYTF Winner), and "Odds" (Nylon Fusion). His journey on the stag began at the age of 16, when he wrote and performed a rap song for the original cast of "Hamilton" and 1300 people in the audience. Joshua Boyce (Billy Daye/Black Nationalist)
Josh (he/him) is a 22-year-old recent graduate of SUNY Purchase College, in New York, where he studied acting at the Conservatory of Theatre Arts. Born in the Barbados, Josh is a well-rounded performer trained in acting singing, and dancing, making him a Bajan triple threat. He uses art as a guide to find out who he truly is at his core. Always bringing who he is to whatever role he portrays, Josh gives you a glimpse into his mind. But don’t let that glimpse fool you. As he often says, “who I am is pages long.” The theater world can expect to see more of Josh as he discovers new chapters of himself. He would love to thank his family for their support, but he sends a special Thank You to his mom.
Sean Segerstrom (Danny Brown/Charlie/Others)
Sean (all pronouns) is a queer, Korean-American actor, entertainer and filmmaker whose work celebrates identity, resilience, and the power of storytelling. Sean thrives on screen and stage, portraying complex characters and shaping narratives as a writer, director, and producer. In addition to their work in film and theater, Sean spent 10 years with TONEWALL and the New York City Gay Men’s Chorus as a performer and choreographer, earning back-to-back Best Choreography awards at the International A Cappella Championship and performing at iconic NYC venues. Sean collaborates with top industry talent at New York City Center, believing that art is more than entertainment—it’s an opportunity to connect, challenge, and inspire. Aidan Martinez (Mikey Simons/Carlos/News Reporter/Others)
Aidan (he/him) is a Texas-born, NYC-based actor, director, and content creator who’s been performing since age six. From church plays to high school musicals to summer camp shows, storytelling has always been at the heart of his journey. A graduate of NYCDA, Aidan stars in the web series “The GO TO” and has appeared in ads for Garnier and Izze. With 36K followers on TikTok, he shares wild childhood stories and comedic takes on life, expanding his voice through his new podcast, Aidan, Tell Me A Story!, where he interviews inspiring guests and dives into fun, heartfelt conversations. He’s thrilled to reprise his roles in Stormé and grateful for every opportunity to do what he loves—bringing characters to life. Follow him @AidanMartinez.
Jenna Lucht (Lisa Cannistraci/Ginger Snaps/Cop/Others)
Jenna (she/her) is thrilled to be returning to the cast of Stormé! She originated the role of Lisa Cannistraci and others including—most importantly, of course, Ginger Snaps. She is elated to share with you even more fun characters in this production. Previously you may have seen her as the meddling neighbor Denise in “Paradise,” a NY Theatre Fest’s winner for Best Play. This fall, check out her original one act play, “The Virgin Mimi,” at the NY Winterfest.
Iain McLellan (Ed ‘Skull’ Murphy/Inspector Phil/Others)
Iain (he/him) is a Brooklyn-based actor who has performed regionally in New England and The Big Apple. He is excited to join the cast of Stormé as Ed ‘The Skull’ Murphy (and others). Adept in Shakespeare, Iain has performed Off-Broadway in “Henry V” and regionally in “Hamlet” and “The Tempest.” Contemporary productions include: “Unpretty” at Chain Theatre, “Generations” at Vino Theater, “The Resurrectionist” at The Tank, Chekhov's “Cherry Orchard,” “The Burial at Thebes,” and “Perfect Arrangement.” Iain graduated from Stella Adler Studio of Acting after a career as an emergency response specialist with the United Nations. @McLellan.iain
Zoe Hunter (Voice Characters)
Zoe (she/her) is a real character! Or several actually. This talented voice over artist lends her skills to Stormé in various ways. Zoe is a theatre actor and mom in the Hudson Valley/NYC. In addition to being a VO artist, she has worked on horror films and with Audible and Hachette Audio as a book narrator. Zoe graduated with a BFA in Musical Theatre from SUNY in Fredonia, NY. She is very excited to work on this historic, timely musical about Stormé DeLarverie, and she dedicates her performances to her family and to the LGBTQIA+ community.
Nick Sienkiewicz (Stage Pianist/Host/Alex)
Nick (he/they) is a musician, conductor, and performer based in NYC. His versatile vocals and strong musicianship have placed him in several types of performance experiences, from musical readings to Off-Off Broadway productions to cabarets at 54 Below. Recent credits include “Antoine” in The Baker’s Wife at the Flea Theater, Music Director for “Pippin” at the Vanguard Theater, and Music Assistant for the Broadway Bound Hippest Trip: The Soul Train Musical. Nick is currently the Artistic Director of the Lehigh Valley Chorale, Director of the Youth Pride Chorus, and Conducting Fellow with the Queer Urban Orchestra. @nick.sienkiewicz.
