A performance in memoriam for women whose lives have been stolen in Mexico and beyond. In this multi-media solo piece performed by lead artist Karilú Alarcón Forshee, Peregrina will weave stories of warriors together with those of the working class through song and dynamic storytelling. This show is a celebration of strength, a practice in grief, and a call to action for those of us who live on. This is a bilingual show performed in Spanish with English subtitles.

Un espectáculo en memoria a todas las mujeres de México y demás, a quienes sus vidas les fueron arrebatadas. En esta pieza multimedia unipersonal realizada por la artista principal Karilú Alarcón Forshee, Peregrina entreteje historias de guerreras con aquellas de la clase trabajadora por medio de canción y narración dinámica. Este espectáculo es una celebración a la fuerza, a la práctica del duelo y un llamado de acción para aquellos que seguimos aquí. Peregrina es actuada en Español con subtítulos en Inglés.

A Host of People is an artist led multi-racial & queer centered Detroit ensemble creating multimedia theatre for social change. We make original work that celebrates imagination, complexity, and the synthesis of seemingly disparate elements—at once epic and intimate, political and personal, poetic and approachable. AHOP exists to create aesthetically rigorous, intellectually challenging theater that is warm, welcoming, and inspiring to people from all walks of life. We choose our subject matter and themes carefully with an eye to stories, topics, and aesthetic approaches that will be equally thrilling to the most adventurous theater fans as well as those with less exposure to the form.
