Annie auditions June 19th and 20th!

A little History:

Scotts Valley Performing Arts (SVPA) was founded in 1998 as a 501c3 nonprofit corporation with the goal of “Enriching, educating and building community spirit with all ages through quality theatre productions”.

Over 13 years we staged several major musicals and helped Bethany University build a new theater where we performed numerous productions including The Sound of Music, Oliver, Honk, and Into the Woods.   After Bethany University closed in 2011, we turned our focus and energy to support construction of the new Scotts Valley Cultural & Performing Arts Center (now called, “The Landing”).

It took 9 years and 250 volunteers to make the dream a reality.  The Scotts Valley Cultural & Performing Arts Center officially opened on October 1, 2022. Now that we have a fantastic facility to call home, SVPA, is once again producing quality community theater.  So far we have produced 4 shows in the new theater - The Best Christmas Pageant Ever, A Year with Frog and Toad, Cinderella, and Newsies. We also partnered with the City of Scotts Valley Parks & Rec to host 2 2-week theater summer camps for kids ages 6 to 12.

In September 2025 we brought a spunky Cinderella to life in the Broadway production of Cinderella, followed by the March 2026 production of Newsies .

Next up - Annie the musical! Set in 1930s New York, Annie's life changes when she is chosen to spend Christmas with billionaire Oliver Warbucks, as she embarks on a journey to find her real parents while facing many challenges along the way. Auditions for Annie are on June 19th and 20th. For details on auditioning please see our Home page.

Want to be involved?

The easiest way to support our community theatre company is with a donation.  It costs about $20,000 to produce a full-blown musical.  We finance our productions with ticket sales, program ads, sponsorships, fund-raising events and of course, donations.

When you purchase tickets, please consider clicking on the Donation button. Anything and everything helps us bring great family theatre to our community.

The next easiest way to support our community theatre company is to get involved.  It takes a village to run a community theater company.  There are many people needed on and off stage to put on a show.  Actors, Directors, Stage Managers, Set Builders, Costumers, Prop Gatherers, Event Planners, Marketers, Kid Wranglers, Ushers, and of course Patrons, are all welcome and invited to join our merry band of thespians.

To reach us send an email to our esteemed president, Cindy Gorski at [email protected].

However you choose to join us, we look forward to seeing you at the Theater!
