Salina Central Theatre program has a long-standing history as one of the earliest chartered troupes in the state. In 2023, 2022, and 2021, thespians from troupe 639 qualified their one act play to represent the state of Kansas at the International Thespian Festival in Bloomington, Indiana with their performance of their student-directed one act plays. Our production of "Anastasia" was nominated for 15 Regional Jester Awards from Music Theatre of Wichita and 8 Jester nominations as well as winning Outstanding Guest Artist in Costuming (Robyn Hilt assisted by the director of the program Barbara Hilt) and winning for Outstanding Pit Conductor (Lindsay Modin, Orchestra Instructor at SCHS) and our production of Mamma Mia! was nominated for 8 Regional Jester Awards.

Salina Central Thespian Troupe 639 is a Gold Honor Troupe and has received multiple recognitions at the Kansas Thespian Festival held every January in Wichita.
