Matilda JR.
Matilda is a little girl with astonishing wit, intelligence and psychokinetic powers. She's unloved by her cruel parents but impresses her schoolteacher Miss Honey. During her first term at school, the two forge a bond as Miss Honey begins to recognize and appreciate Matilda's extraordinary personality. Matilda's school life isn't completely smooth sailing, however – the school's mean headmistress, Miss Trunchbull, hates children and just loves to punish those who don't abide by her rules. But Matilda has courage and cleverness in equal amounts and could be the school pupils' saving grace!
Packed with high-energy dance numbers and catchy songs Matilda Jr. is a joyous girl power romp. Children and adults alike will be thrilled and delighted by the story of the special little girl with an extraordinary imagination.
Angels In America, Part One: Millennium Approaches
Possum Point Players has made the difficult decision not to move forward with its planned production of Angels in America this season. While there was tremendous enthusiasm for the project, production challenges emerged during the audition and planning process. After careful consideration, PPP determined that these challenges could not be adequately addressed in time to move forward with the production this season.
This was not an easy decision, and we share in the disappointment felt by many members of our theater community. Angels in America is an important and powerful work, and we remain committed to finding a path to bring this important work to the Possums stage in the future.
Looking ahead, PPP is pleased to announce that its fall production will be The Laramie Project. Ticket holders for Angels in America will have their tickets automatically transferred to the corresponding performance of The Laramie Project. Updated ticket information will be sent by email, and dates, times, and seat locations will remain unchanged. Those wishing to exchange tickets or discuss other options may contact the Box Office at (302) 856-4560.
She Loves Me
Amalia and Georg work together at a modest Hungarian perfumery and have disliked each other from the very beginning. He thinks she's stuck up, and she thinks he's arrogant and mean. To escape the reality of working together, they turn to a romantic pen pal exchange until they realize that they have been writing to each other. She Loves Me is an enchanting musical from the songwriting team behind Fiddler on the Roof. The highly celebrated score features favorites such as “Vanilla Ice Cream”, “A Romantic Atmosphere”, “Dear Friend”, and “She Loves Me”.
