There is a moment at every LPO concert when something shifts.
Someone leans forward. Someone closes their eyes. Someone reaches over and touches their neighbor's arm without thinking. That moment, when the room stops being an audience and becomes something else, is what we come here to make.
The Lowell Philharmonic Orchestra has been in this city since 1903. We are not here to preserve a tradition. We are here to keep it alive, which is a different thing entirely.
Every program we build is a story. Every concert is an invitation. Not an invitation to sit quietly and observe, but to step through an opening and see what's on the other side.
You are allowed to clap between movements. You are allowed to close your eyes. You are allowed to feel something you didn't expect to feel.
That is the point.
I came to this orchestra because I saw what it could be: a living, breathing cultural center for every person in this city, whether they've ever heard an orchestra before or not. That vision is what drives every concert we program, every young musician we put on stage, every door we leave open.
The opening is there. We'd love to see you walk through it.
