ABOUT IRCHS

Indian River Charter High School (IRCHS) was founded in 1998 as a small, public, non-traditional high school, with an emphasis on character development, academic achievement, career preparation, and cultural awareness.

With an enrollment limited to approx. 770, the school operates under the auspices of a private non-profit organization and is guided by a community Board of Directors.

At the core of IRCHS is our Visual and Performing Arts Program (VAPA).

VAPA

Students in the Visual and Performing Arts program have access to all kinds of amazing opportunities to shine. Our students participate in competitions at the local, regional, state, and national level, receiving significant recognition at all levels. Students participate in local volunteer opportunities related to the arts and gain valuable experience in these fields.

Each semester the entire school community produces a curriculum-based VAPA showcase incorporating theater, orchestra, musical theater, dance, and the visual arts.
