Where Weird lives

Mission Statement

Goshen Art House’s mission is to provide creative opportunities for the region’s artists by producing low-barrier, high-possibility events featuring film, theater, comedy, music, literature, and art.

Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Statement

Goshen Art House believes in equity, justice, and inclusion for all. We believe our work is made stronger by the many voices, perspectives, and experiences in our community. We actively welcome and include all people, regardless of race, socioeconomic class, color, national origin, religion, diverse perspectives, age, sex, sexual orientation, gender, gender identity, neurological or physical ability, veteran status, legal status, or education level.

We advocate for a diverse creative community because we know such diversity strengthens and enriches the members, leaders, and patrons of Goshen Art House. We recognize and celebrate individual differences among all artists, including but not limited to race, ethnicity, age, gender, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, physical abilities, nationality, language, religious beliefs, socioeconomic background, or level of weirdness. All artists deserve equal access and a safe working environment where the only risks people face are artistic challenges. We are committed to the pursuit of professional standards that include equitable fair dealings with all our collaborators.

  • Include, respect, and appreciate differences in ethnicity, gender, age, national origin, ability, sexual orientation and identity, education, and religion in our goals and objectives.
  • Create structured opportunities for the Board of Directors and staff to increase awareness and understanding of the issues inherent in the work of inclusion and diversity.
  • Advocate for action on diversity, inclusion, and equity issues across all media platforms to maintain consistent, direct communication with our staff, Board, and patrons about these issues on an ongoing basis.
  • Make workshops and training opportunities regarding inclusion and diversity available to our Board, staff, and patrons.
  • Keep diversity, parity, and equity at the forefront of our considerations with regard to the nomination of candidates for our Board, and ensure our staff hiring practices fully reflect our commitment.
