Decatur Central High School Theatre is dedicated to a tradition of excellent art and to serving the students of DCHS with the opportunity to grow and learn as theatre makers, as students, and as citizens of the world.  We strive to make a safe space for our students to take risks and to show their talent among a group of peers and educators who will encourage their creativity and their development.

FANTASY & FICTION (2026-2027)

Join us this season as we explore shows centered around the theme “Fantastical Places and Fictional Characters", stories that have been told before but in a brand new way.

  • An Evening of One Acts 2026 - February 4 & 5
  • Spring Coffeehouse - March 9
  • The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe - April 16 & 17
  • Final Acts Showcase - May 4
  • Theatre Awards - May 18

 

 

INTERNATIONAL THESPIAN SOCIETY

Decatur Central Theatre is a member of the International Thespian Society (Troupe #1049).  In addition to the season of shows, ITS allows students opportunities to learn, grow, and share with other students outside of DCHS who have similar interests and backgrounds.  Each year, students who have earned 10+ ITS points that are earned through shows and thespian activities are inducted into this theatre honor society which allows them to become leaders in our program and push their boundaries to become the best theatre makers they can be.
