International Thespian Troupe 1557
The Coronado DramaDons are proud members of International Thespian Society 1557. Troupe 1557 has a rich history at Coronado High School that dates all the way back to the start of the school in the 1960s. While we have not always been an active troupe, we are happy to be part of the Society again.
Our DramaDons include both actors and tech theatre students. We know that one cannot happen without the other, and we work hand in hand to make sure our productions are great! Students earn points towards induction by acting in and teching for shows throughout the school year. Each point that a student earns is worth 10 hours of work. Students need 10 total points - equaling 100 hours of work - in order to be inducted each year. Productions outside of school also help them gain points towards induction.
Our inducted members have benefits that include cheaper fees for Arizona Thespian Festival, stoles at graduation, and access to scholarship opportunities. Inducted members are also the only members allowed to compete in the Regional Festival every January. 2023 is the first year in recent history that the DramaDons are expected to compete.
