Celebrating over 30 years of history in Pagosa Springs

In 1989, a group of Music and Theater lovers and supporters came together to form Pagosa Springs Music Boosters, created to produce musicals for the community and to offer a college scholarship to a deserving performing arts student.

Fast forward to 2023, our 34th anniversary year, and you will still find a devoted grassroots organization but with a new name, changed in 2014, Curtains Up Pagosa that more accurately reflects our work and mission. CUP currently produces two shows a year plus additional concerts and other music events including our February Follies: Local Talent Competition. We give not only college scholarships, but also monies for lessons, camps, instruments, and more. CUP remains the sponsor of performing arts in the schools and performing arts education in the community!

Hard to believe, but Curtains Up Pagosa! has been making magic in Pagosa Springs for more than a quarter of a century, producing over 100 shows. Since 1989, CUP has been in service to our schools and community as the cornerstone of performing arts production in our schools and in bringing the best of community theater to our mountain town. All of CUP's shows are accompanied by a live pit orchestra of outstanding local musicians who add another layer of magic and beauty to our performances. We continue to offer excellence and professionalism in our productions, in addition to providing a safe and creative space for our actors to thrive!

The Curtains Up Pagosa mission is to nurture, educate, inspire, and strengthen Pagosa's artists through the power of the performing arts, and to entertain our community by providing a superior theatrical experience.
