Torch Song Cast

Julian Deleon (Arnold)
Julian Deleon (Arnold) is thrilled to tell this beautiful story on the Workshop stage. Julian studied acting at The American Academy of Dramatic Arts-NY. After graduation he worked as an Educational Marketing Intern at American Place Theatre and performed with Galli Theatre NY. He is now the Director of Social Media at Columbia Children’s Theatre and works as one of the Theatre Instructors at Midlands Arts Conservatory. His favorite roles include Seth in The Campaign (Workshop Theatre), Horton in Seussical (Columbia Childrens Theatre) and Elliot in MilkMilk Lemonade (Trustus Theatre). He would like to thank Jeni for always being AMAZING, Jerry Crouch for allowing him to portray this once in a lifetime role, and his mother for her constant support and love.
Marshall Spann (Ed)
Marshall Spann (Ed) is thrilled to be back at Workshop Theatre, having last been seen on the Cottingham stage in God of Carnage. In New York he has been seen in Hard Sparks Innovative Award winning play R&J&Z, Theatre 167’s The World’s Fair Plays (NY Times Critic’s Pick). He also co-wrote, co-produced, and co-starred in the web series Ollie & Molly Can’t Get Arrested. Other credits include Romeo and Juliet, Crimes of the Heart at PlayMakers Repertory Company, Miss Bennet’s Christmas at Pemberley at Trustus, Macbeth and Julius Caesar with the SC Shakespeare Company, On The Moors Now at USC, and Other Desert Cities and The Boys in the Band at Workshop Theatre. MFA: Professional Actor Training Program/ UNC Chapel Hill.
Debra Haines Kiser  (Ma)
Debra Haines Kiser (Ma) has a special place in her heart for Torch Song Trilogy since 1982 because it was Debra’s first Broadway show. She was last seen as Polly Wyeth on the Workshop stage in Other Desert Cities. Most recently, Debra appeared as M’Lynn in Steel Magnolias (Village Square Theatre), Miss Scarlet in Clue, Wanelle in Farce of Nature, Dinah in Dixie Swim Club (Chapin Theatre) and Juanita in Dearly Departed (OnStage Productions). This production is especially poignant as Debra is working with Jerry Crouch. They first shared the stage together in 1979 in Town Theatre’s Kiss Me Kate and Workshop’s production of Little Mary Sunshine. Retired life has allowed her to spend time pursuing her passions: theatre, friends, cooking and spending time with her daughter, Jessica.
Taylor Diveley (Alan)
Taylor Diveley (Alan) is ecstatic to be in his second production at Workshop. Usually partial to musicals, this is Taylor’s first ever role in a straight show. Taylor studied vocal performance at both the University of South Carolina and Coastal Carolina Universities. You may remember him as Charlie in Workshop’s Production of Kinky Boots. Taylor would like to thank his parents, Kimberly and Lee, for their never ending support; Jerry, for his intelligent direction and trusting him in this process; and Jeni, for being the incredible friend and mentor he didn’t know he needed.
Beth DeHart (Laurel)
Beth DeHart (Laurel) This is Beth's debut with Workshop Theatre and she is so excited to be part of this cast! Since 2006, Beth has performed in 18 different shows with the Columbia Children's Theater, the NiA Company, and most recently, On Stage productions. In addition to stage performance, Beth also enjoys drumming with Jubilee! Circle's band, and she also enjoys creating canvas, pattern, and furniture art.
Brady Davis (David)
Brady Davis (David) is a sophomore at Spring Hill High School and most recently appeared in Workshop Theatre’s Production of Kinky Boots as one of the angels. Brady is a team dancer at Dance Dept. and just returned from NYC where he performed in the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. He has been in several shows with Chapin Theatre Company, ICRC, On Stage Productions, The Stallion Theatre Group and Workshop Theatre. He plans to get a degree in cosmetology and move to NYC to pursue a dancing, acting and makeup artistry career. With that being said he wishes all of his cast and crew mates a wonderful show!!
