About Zoomdunnit?

Welcome VHS Theater Supporters!

To say this is a challenging time for theater arts is an understatement.  When schools closed in March, we were rehearsing for our spring musical, Cinderella.  The cast and crew were heartbroken that we were unable to continue with the production, but we managed to salvage a little bit of the project with a recorded Zoom reading with the cast.  Additionally we recorded a spring improv (Zoomprov) show with the VHS What? Improv Troupe, and produced a spring showcase via IMovie.  We have learned a lot about performing in cyberspace since then!

Over the summer, a very dedicated group of seniors approached me (via Zoom) to discuss this year’s theater plans.  They decided they wanted to write their own first semester play, and so Zoomdunnit? was born.  The entire cast gave initial input into the concept, and then, under my direction, four seniors did the majority of the writing.  I was completely impressed with these four creative and diligent students:  Ramsey Dillon, Kylie Pence, Jaidynn Sellers, and Chloe Wastell.

The saying, “The show must go on” has never been more appropriate; and this year,it might actually be more apropo to say, “The show must go online!”  Although we miss our VHS stages and audiences, we are really excited and pleased to bring you this virtual production.  The actors have truly embraced the style of the melodramatic Whodunnit, and it has been fun for me to watch them grow and develop this past semester.

On behalf of the cast and crew, we hope you enjoy this hour long Zoom play as you try to determine who done it……. Or rather, Zoom done it?  Was it the butler?  Was it the Texan?  Was it the Widow?  Or was it one of the other manor guests.

Thank you for supporting the VHS Theater Department. Please share the news that we are back!

Sincerely,

Stefoni Rossiter
