Hal Ott, founding member of Valley Musical Theatre, is director for Greater Tuna. He has served VMT in many capacities including as board member since the organization began (sixteen years as president) and as producer for fourteen VMT shows. He directed VMT’s Oliver, Cinderella, Pirates of Penzance, Trial by Jury, Nöel, and Sanders’ Family Christmas. Dr. Ott is also Professor of Flute at Central Washington University where he was awarded the title of Distinguished Professor. He was twice a winner of the National Flute Association Professional Performers’ Competition. He is principal flutist with the Yakima Symphony and the Malibu Coast Chamber Orchestra, and he has presented clinics, adjudicated, and performed on both the flute throughout the United States, Europe, and the Peoples' Republic of China.
