Once Upon a Mattress Cast

Princess Winnifred "the Woebegone" (Chloe Rivera)
Chloe Rivera is a 17 year old junior, and she has been involved with theatre for 4 years. She has performed in 3 musicals so far and is excited to be performing in Once Upon a Mattress as one of the lead roles. If she could be a part of any production, her dream role would be Veronica Sawyer from Heathers the Musical! She feels truly blessed to be a part of this cast, and she hopes you enjoy the show!
Prince Dauntless "the Drab" (Michael Acord)
Michael has been involved in theatre for nine years. He has performed with the Encore Theatre as an Encore Kid for four years, also performing at Disneyland. He has played the Minstrel in this show before, and he’s looking forward to playing Prince Dauntless this time!
Queen Aggravain (Sydnee Espinoza)
Sydnee has been a part of Tulare Western Drama for 4 years. She also has experience working with Encore Theatre. Her credits include: Mulan, Hairspray, Shakespeare Goes to Gravel Gulch, You’re a Good Man Charlie Brown, and now she has the pleasure of playing Queen Aggravain in Once Upon a Mattress. She also had the honor of placing as a runner up in Homecoming representing the Drama Club.
Queen Aggravain, Lady in Waiting (Evelyn Gonzalez)
Evelyn is a senior at Tulare Western. She started Drama her freshman year and has since been in three productions. She has starred as Aunt Abigail in Shakespeare Goes to Gravel Gulch, Sally Brown in “You’re a Good Man Charlie Brown”, and as the original Minstrel in Mattress (the musical that wasn’t). She was also the director of the Hallmarks of Horror this fall. Her dream role is to play Mercédes in The Count of Monte Cristo.
King Sextimus (Jason Lopez)
Jason is a junior at TW and has been an amazing technician for the last few years. Although on the stage in the Fall in The Hallmarks of Horror, this is his first lead role. And though he doesn't say much, his gestures and pantomime, speak volumes!
The Minstrel (Lucas Landeros)
Lucas has been a part of of TW Drama for 4 years. Last year, he played Linus in "You're a Good Man Charlie Brown" and this year he has the honor to play the Minstrel! Fun fact, he was a representative for Drama Club for Homecoming and he won!
Lady Larkin, Lady in Waiting (Abbi Colvin)
Abbi Colvin is a senior at Tulare Western . She’s been involved in drama for over 6 years. She has been in plays such as The Little Mermaid, Shakespeare Goes to Gravel Gulch, and Once Upon a Mattress (this one and 2020). She also directed the one-act Hallmarks of Horror at Tulare Western. Her dream role is to play Zoe Murphy in the musical Dear Evan Hansen.
Lady Larkin, Lady in Waiting (Madeleine Reynolds)
Madeleine (Maddie) Reynolds is a junior at Tulare Western High School. She is very passionate about performing and singing and has been in play productions for 7 years now! Her very first show was actually Once Upon A Mattress Jr., where she played Princess Winnifred in 5th grade. She is delighted to get to do this show once again but now as Lady Larken! Maddie has also had other lead roles, such as Kira in Xanadu Jr., The Bird Woman in Mary Poppins Jr., and has even performed in the Sequoia Symphony singing “I Wanna Hippopotamus for Christmas.” She performed with Encore Theatre locally for 2 years with Stages, 3 years as an Encore Kid (plus performances in Disneyland), and in the summer production of Oliver. As well as acting, she also performs as a musician, playing French Horn since 6th grade, participating in Jazz Band playing piano for 3 years, and programs like TKMEA Honor Band (4 years now) and participating in Western’s marching and concert band. She also has done tennis for 3 years and loves to work with her fellow peers in arts and athletics.
Sir Harry (Manuel Segoviano)
Manuel Segoviano is a junior at Tulare Western High School. He enjoys spending time with his friends and family during his free time and he loves using music and acting as his main source of expression and creativity. He loves working alongside others and is grateful for the opportunity that has been given to him. He is grateful towards the directors and coordinators for taking a chance with him and he can't wait to get this show on the road. He can’t wait to see you there!
The Jester (Deirdre Betancourt)
Deirdre has been a passionate artist all her life including every form of art, but the performing arts are her favorite. She’s been a performer for 6 years, but she started singing and dancing her sophomore year. As her senior year comes to an end, she would love to thank all those who have supported hee, taught her, inspired her, and believed in her through many challenging years. She appreciate you all! She say, “Thank you for making me the person I am today.”
The Wizard (Drew Hodson)
Drew Hodson has been a part of Drama class for 4 years. He has always enjoyed the fun work behind the productions such as the practicing, creating the sets, and also the making of props. He enjoys acting immensely, especially making up voices and characters. Since he could talk and walk, he loved to CREATE stories. He has his own YouTube channel where he creates his own videos.
Lady Lucille, Dancer (Sarah Cruz)
Sarah Cruz has been involved with the Drama Department at Tulare Western for 3 years. This is her third production which included The Tree in fall of 2021, and she’s very excited to be onstage again!
Lady Rowena (Alondra Becerra)
Alondra Becerra is a senior and has been in drama for three years. She made her debut last year in a scene from The Odd Couple and this year she was in the suspenseful one-act The Tree. She's into the performing arts and hopes to go to college and further her education in musical theatre and music in general.
Lady Merrill, Cinderella (Brianne Azevedo)
Brianne Azevedo is a junior at Tulare Western and has been a part of the Drama Program for three years. Outside of drama she enjoys playing soccer and staying involved in ASB. Her dream role would be to play Penny in the musical Hairspray.
Princess #12, Lady Beatrice, Evil Queen (Arianna Bedrosian)
Arianna Bedrosian is a sophomore at Tulare Western High School. She has been involved in theatre since she was in first grade with Encore Theatre. This is her second year with the drama program and she is looking forward to performing Once Upon A Mattress!
Sir Studley, Sir Harold (Julian Montoya)
Julian is a freshman here at Western after auditioning for the intermediate class via Zoom. He has been involved in theater since he was in 2nd grade! He was in his first production at Western, “The Tree”, in the fall. He is super excited to be in his first musical with Western!

Marianna is a sophomore and genuinely enjoys being a part of the Drama Department. She likes to try her best to be outgoing and make sure she fulfills her responsibilities in school and at home. Minor or Major role, she enjoys being a part of every performance.
Lady Mabelle, Lady in Waiting (Giselle Lupercio)
Giselle Lupercio is a junior at Tulare Western High School. She has been doing drama for 3 years and has been in two productions. Her dream role is to play Dorothy from The Wizard of Oz or Heather Chandler and she wants to pursue acting after high school. Her love for theatre has grown stronger over the years. She thanks her peers and teacher for motivating her and helping her improve her acting abilities.

Ximena Cisneros is a senior and has been in Drama for two years. She has a big passion for acting and is always eager to learn more about it. She plans to pursue acting after high school.

Jesselyn Gonzalez is a sophomore at Tulare Western High School. She is currently in her second year of Drama at TW, but previously did Drama at her middle school for 3 years. Jesselyn was also a band student for a whopping 6 years. She spends her free time watching Disney movies and reading mystery books.

Kathryn is a senior who’s been involved with acting for around 8 years. She’s very passionate about acting and it’s her dream to become an actress. Kat loves being on stage and performing. She enjoys acting and trying to portray her character to the best of her ability and hopes other people enjoy watching the production as much as she loves performing for them.
