Bob Bartlett’s plays include UNION, an ink-still-drying fiction chronicling Walt Whitman’s years living and loving in Washington, DC during the Civil War; E2, a contemporary reimagining of Marlowe's Edward II, which premiered last season at Maryland's Rep Stage; THE REGULAR (2022 O'Neill Finalist; 2020 Seven Devils Playwrights Conference), which follows the healing journey of a war medic who writes travelogue about the great American diner; SWIMMING WITH WHALES (1st Stage); HAPPINESS (AND OTHER REASONS TO DIE) (The Welders); THE ACCIDENT BEAR (The Avenue Laundromat); THE ORBIT OF MERCURY (2017 O'Neill Finalist); BAREBACK INK, a queer reimagining of the Ganymede myth, which recently had runs at the Capital and Edinburgh Fringe Festivals and NYC's Hard Sparks; and most recently THREE STRANGERS SITTING AROUND A BACKYARD FIREPIT AT TWO IN THE MORNING LISTENING TO BRUCE SPRINGSTEEN'S NEBRASKA, which the playwright produced in his backyard. Bartlett is an affiliated artist with the National New Play Network, a member of The Dramatists Guild of America, and a founding member of The Welders, a DC-based, producing playwrights collective, who earned his MFA in Playwriting from Catholic University of America and lives in an old farmhouse near the Chesapeake Bay in Maryland. Carl Randolph
Carl Randolph (he, him, his) earned his MA in Producing Film at American University and his MFA in Directing from the Catholic University of America. Carl has worked in many aspects of the theatre including producer, director, choreographer, actor, and FX Make Up Artist for 40 years. Directing/Choreography credits include the premiere of All Save One by Greg Jones Ellis (Washington Stage Guild), assistant director for Jason Loewith for On The Town at Olney Theatre Center, A Chorus Line, My Fair Lady, Guys and Dolls, Terra Nova and the US premiere of Futureproof by Irish playwright Lynda Radley. He is a proud member of SDC (associate), AEA and SAG-AFTRA and served as the Balto/Washington AEA Liaison for six years. Mailé Nguyễn
Mailé Nguyen (they/them) is delighted to return as Dramaturg for Transformation Theatre having been dramaturg for American Divide in 2021. They received their BFA in Theatre from Ohio University, and was a recent Fulbright grantee to South Korea. Through Fulbright Korea, they conducted funded research on evolving gender expressions in South Korean media. Their other research interests include social justice education in Asian American theatre. They are currently based in Chicago and work in AAPI philanthropy and ESL education. They are thrilled to work with this amazing team on an exciting new play!
