Insights is a collection of various monologues and scenes that allows students to really focus on the elements of theatre; character development, emotions, projection, and delivery onstage and offstage as each actor will become the director of their own work. Each work falls under the four main categories of middle school students'  experiences; school, family, social awareness, and identity. We also added songs and a couple of dance numbers to express student feelings through movement. Some students will even write their own scenes or monologue. The production will discuss the topics; of bullying, family dynamics, and just being comfortable and confident being a kid. Our goal is to help bring awareness and start conversations among our audience and with our fellow actors to continue to build community within the drama association.

The Drama Association of Springfield Township Middle School serves to provide a creative outlet for the students onstage and the technical crew. The STMSDA is open to all students in grades 6, 7, & 8.  All who would like to be involved are encouraged to join. Throughout the year there are workshops offered to enable students to take part in an introduction to acting, musical theatre, improvisation, choreography, and stage crew. Students also partake in auditions and rehearsals to prepare for two final performances, a fall drama production, and a spring musical; the culmination of all of their work throughout the year. The mission of the STMS Drama Program is to foster a sense of community. Build confidence, goal setting, and leadership development.
