On Golden Pond Cast

Recently retired after 36 years with the American Philatelic Society, Mercer has appeared in numerous productions with SCCT since 2004. Favorite roles include Mr. Dussel (Diary of Anne Frank), Martin Vanderhof (You Can't Take it With You), Oscar Madison (The Odd Couple), and Mayor Shinn (The Music Man), He has also appeared in 25 Penn State Student films.

This is Elizabeth's second time performing with SCCT, and she is once again thrilled to be working with such a talented cast of great people. Earlier this season she played Mrs. White in Clue, which was also her first time on stage since college. Originally from MA, Elizabeth has called Bellefonte home for eighteen years. She works with the best coworkers and volunteers in the area at Centre Volunteers in Medicine.

Rob Arnold (Bill Ray): is excited to return to the stage with SCCT this season! Rob was most recently seen in Clue as Professor Plum. Past roles include: Bill Austin in Mamma Mia!, Ken Gorman in Rumors, Underling in The Drowsy Chaperone, Lord Savage in Jekyll & Hyde, Moonface Martin in Anything Goes, Patsy in Monty Python’s Spamalot, Horton the Elephant in Seussical: The Musical, Jack/Stephanie in Leading Ladies, Juror #7 in Twelve Angry Men, and Albin/Zaza in La Cage aux Folles. Rob is currently serving on SCCT’s Board of Directors. Originally from Pittsburgh, Rob attended Penn State pursuing a degree in English Education, minoring in Theater. When not on stage, he can be found managing the Avantor Stockroom at Penn State, delivering food with GrubHub, or cuddling with his cat on the couch! Rob would like to thank his friends, and Zac, for their continued love and support.

Jared Kehler is loon-y with excitement to be a part of On Golden Pond! Graduating from Penn State with a Film-Video degree in 2019, he decided to stay in State College for a couple of extra years. As a student, he was involved in SCCT’s Jekyll & Hyde (2015), The Wedding Singer (2016) and was Charlie Brown in You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown (2017). Last season he was involved in Barefoot in the Park (2021) and 9 to 5: The Musical (2021). Jared currently serves as the Vice President of SCCT, and was both the Undercover Cop and Backup Cop in Clue earlier this season. He has performed with other community theatre groups, playing Ken Gorman in the Stone Arch Players’ production of Rumors (2022) in Lewistown, and was involved in the original play Fallout, which debuted at The State Theatre this past March. Ben has been acting for 9 years now. He is a Junior at Philipsburg-Osceola Senior High School. He was last (and first) seen at SCCT in “9 to 5” as Josh Newstead. He hopes to one day major in musical theatre. Enjoy the show!!
