Ann Baden (Lorax)
This is Ann's twentieth play with the Miracle Players. Some of the plays she has appeared in include Oliver, A Christmas Story, Annie, Music Man; The King and I; Murder's in the Heir; Wonderland; Damn Yankees; The Plot, Like Gravy, Thickens; Secret Garden; Fiddler on the Roof; Our Town and Man of La Mancha. She is a lector at St. Gabriel's and decided that if she could read in front of a church full of people, she could recite lines in a theater full of people.
Ken Berry (The Cat in the Hat)
Ken is delighted to be making his first appearance with the “Miracle Players.” No stranger to the stage, he has been performing in and directing for multiple theater companies throughout MD and PA for more than 35 years. Some of Ken’s favorite musical roles include “Sancho” (Man of La Mancha), “J.P. Finch” ( How to Succeed ...), “Barnaby” (Hello Dolly), “Evelyn Oakley” (Anything Goes), “Mack Sennett” (Mack and Mabel), the “Tin man” (The Wizard of Oz), and “Maurice” (Beauty and the Beast). Ken’s biggest thrill is to be performing once again with his amazing wife, Kay, alias (“Gertrude”). As always, Ken would like to thank God, who makes anything possible. In addition, he would like to thank innovative Deb, director and friend, as well as each member of the creative production team. In addition, Ken would like to thank the talented cast, orchestra members, and the many “behind the scenes” volunteers. Finally, Ken would like to thank the audience for their support. Elinor Bower (Thing 1, Roo)
Elinor never has so much fun as when she’s in a show. She loves straight plays, but her true love is musicals. Past performances have included Kate (Annie), Andrina (The Little Mermaid Jr), Esther Jane (A Christmas Story), and Mustardseed/First Fairy (A Midsummer Night’s Dream). She is excited to stretch her acting this time around in two roles with no words. She thanks this terrific cast for creating such a great show!
Mary Beth Bunting (Music Director, Bird Girl)
Mary Beth is in her final semester, studying Biology at UMBC. This is her fourth time music directing with St. Gabriel’s. Apart from musical theatre, she loves volunteering at the National Aquarium, barista-ing, and professional wrestling. She is so happy to be back with the amazing and talented group of St. Gabe’s. She wants to thank the rest of the production team for allowing her to be ON THE STAGE again, doing what she loves. Cast, break a leg! Production team, you rock! Melconn, thank you for being my everything gal!
Carly Burd (Cindy Lou Who)
Carly is in the third grade at Thomas Johnson Elementary and sings in their choir, the Lyrical Lions and Faith Presbyterian Church Youth Choir. She also participated in Musical Artists Theatre summer camp. She played Ignorance in A Christmas Carol last year with Riverside Players. Carly loves all things theater, art and singing. This is her first performance with St Gabriel’s Miracle Players.
Deb Carson (Director/Bird Girl Wrangler/Fox-in-Sox)
Deb is delighted to be returning for her 4th season with the Miracle Players and is humbly honored to be directing her first production for the group. Her previous directing credits include: The Sound of Music (Theatre Without Limits), The King and I (GAP), Play On! (Littlestown High School), Anne Frank (CCP), and Beauty and the Beast (GAP). Favorite roles include Lettie (Somethings Afoot!), Snoopy (YAGMCB!), Lottie (Mack and Mabel), Kate (Sylvia), Brooke (Dilemmas with Dinner) and M’lynn (Steel Magnolias). Deep appreciation to Molly, Katie, Mary Beth, and our entire cast for their commitment to this creation, and to Kacy, Dan, Heidi, and John W. for their help in bringing Seussical! to life. As always, much love to the usual suspects both within and outside the show.
Ashley Case (Bird Girl)
Ashley is excited to be back on stage with St. Gabriel Miracle Players! Ashley is a rising sophomore at Towson University with a major in criminal justice and a minor in theater. Recent tech roles include: Wig Designer for Phantom of the Opera at Beth Tfiloh Dahan Community School and has been the Propsmaster for Beth Tfiloh Community Theatre for Sweeney Todd, Pippin, and Man of La Mancha. Some recent performance credits include: Lily St. Regis in Annie with St. Gabriel Miracle Players, Grandma in The Addams Family with Beth Tfiloh, the Interpreter and a wife in The King and I with St. Gabriel Miracle Players and Granny in Into the Woods with Beth Tfiloh Community Theatre. She wants to thank the entire cast and crew for their hard work and hopes you enjoy the show!
Kacy Conley (Producer)
Kacy has been a member of the the Miracle Players for 30+ years. Highlights have included various roles producing, directing and acting - directing Oliver!, Kismet, Nuncrackers, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, Cinderella, Murder’s in the Heir, and Rented Christmas. Kacy also performed as Mrs. Julia Gibbs in Our Town, Frumah-Sara in Fiddler on the Roof, Alice in The Secret Garden, Mother in Cheaper by the Dozen, Reno Sweeney in Anything Goes, Sister Helen in Do Black Patent Leather Shoes Really Reflect Up, Mom Bailey in It’s a Wonderful Life, the Sorceress of the North in Wizard of Oz, Mother Abbess in The Sound of Music, Mrs. Pearce in My Fair Lady, and Lady Thiang in The King and I. She thanks her husband Dan for all his support. She is especially thankful to the wonderful production team, cast and crew who make magic happen.
Melody Connell (Judge Yertle the Turtle/Vlad Vladicoff)
Melody is an online ESL teacher who recently graduated from Mount St. Mary’s University with a B.A. in Communication and Foreign Language. She has been involved in many different theatrical productions, but this is her second production with the St. Gabriel Miracle Players. She is thankful for all of her family’s support and Mary Beth for again asking her to join the fun again.
Jack Cummiskey (Max)
Jack is a fourth grader at Woodbridge Elementary School in Catonsville. Seussical is his first production with the Miracle Players, and he’s excited to perform on stage in community theater. Previously, he has appeared as a storyteller in Woodbridge’s production of Aladdin and as various parts in church and school plays.
Therese Claire Evelyn DeMarco (Whickersham)
Therese is in her 5th show with the Miracle Players. She is thrilled to take the role of the Whickersham #1 and is having fun being a rough and tumble monkey with a soulful voice! Miss Therese loves the stage and adores the cast of Seussical. In her free time, she sings nonstop to anyone and everyone who will listen. She hopes that you enjoy the show and will come back for the next production!
June Frank (General Schmitz)
June has been active in the theater community for quite a while but has been seen more behind the light & sound board than on stage in the last several years. So...I'm back! Miracle Players has many dedicated, talented and caring people which is why I chose this theater and these folks for my return to stretch my vocals as well as my imagination. I appreciate the entire staff. Support from family & friends certainly enhances our everyday journeys, so thanks to them and to my talented, funny and amazing husband, Bob, who lights up not only the stage, but also my life. Break a leg everyone!
Amelia Gauvey (Elephant Bird/ Who)
Amelia is excited to be in her 3rd production with St. Gabriel Miracle Players. Performing before as Nipper in Oliver and Kate in Annie, as well as June Crachit in A Christmas Carol with Riverside Players. Bitten by the acting bug two years ago, Amelia is in 3rd grade and enjoys dancing, singing, and sushi.
Jana Gauvey (Mr. Mayor)
Jana is happy to be back with St. Gabriel Miracle Players. Returning to acting after an undisclosed hiatus, Jana joined in with her kids for a few plays, mostly chorus characters in Annie, Oliver, and Mrs. Crachit with Riverside Players. When not on stage she mostly hides behind a computer, reads books, and plays with yarn.
Jim Gross (Horton)
Back at St. Gabriel, totally glad, ‘cause working with talented people is rad. Big special thanks to Deb and DB, for making us look good and sound good for thee. My favorite roles, hard to choose, there are many, I’ll start with Warbucks, the Daddy of Annie. A monster named Trekkie from Avenue Q, Actor 4 in a small show called Das Barbecü In Anything Goes, Billy Crocker was fun, and the Waiter in First Date had a great run. It’s been so fun with this talented cast, but there’s still some folks I need to thank last. Matilda, Alexandra and my great wife Renee, thank you, and thank you, I love you, I say! Now you, dearest reader, you enjoy the show, take its lessons with you, wherever you go.
Genevieve Joyce (Ensemble)
Genevieve is in the Who choir and is very excited to be in Seussical. This is her first time at St. Gabriel. She is in 2nd grade and enjoys singing, dancing, and acting.
Julia Joyce (Ensemble)
Julia is a who in Seussical and this is her first play at St. Gabriel. She is enrolled at St. Agnes School. She has two sisters, Virginia and Genevieve. She is very thankful for St. Gabriel letting her be in this play.
Virginia Joyce (Ensemble)
Virginia has been doing theater for one year. She has been in Rock Around The Block as Virginia Seagal. She is very excited to have this opportunity of being in the ensemble in Seussical. This is her first time at St. Gabriel, and it has been a great experience.
Emily Lambert (Mrs. Mayor)
Emily is beyond thrilled to be performing in such a beautiful production with a very talented cast. This is Emily’s 6th show with Miracle Players and she is ecstatic to be returning to their stage. Some of her favorite credits include Grace Farrell in Annie, Wendy in Peter Pan, Emily Webb in Our Town, and Cordelia in King Lear. When not on stage, Emily is a Pre-K teacher who enjoys teaching her little “who’s” all about theater! Thank you to the creative team that has helped make this possible. Thank you mom for your endless love and support! This show goes out to all lovers of Seuss, young and old! After all, “a person’s a person no matter how small.”
Molly Laska (Assistant Director/Stage Manager)
Molly is an accountant from Cleveland, OH. She is a graduate of Miami University and works for Textron Systems. She started performing at age 8 and career highlights include: voice over work and long and short form improv as well as over 30 fully produced productions including The Wizard of Oz (Aunt Em), the world premiere production of The Latest Show (Producer) and It Can’t Happen Here. Molly is thrilled to be making her directing debut as Deb’s right hand lady having worked with her before in Oliver! (Bet) and Midsummer Night’s Dream (Puck). Molly started stage managing in college, credits include The Last Cigarette, Gathering Blue and Stupid [expletive] Bird at Miami University. This is also Molly’s first time taking lead on a musical having assisted with a production of Avenue Q at The Beck Center. With so many firsts going on here she is thankful for the support of her family, this cast and to Katie, Mary Beth and Deb for being the strong female dream team every SM hopes for.
N. Kay Lenhart (Gertrude)
Kay is thrilled to have this opportunity to portray Gertrude in her first appearance with this inviting, inclusive, and fun group, the St. Gabriel Miracle Players. Beloved roles elsewhere include Mabel Norman in Mack and Mabel and Hope Langdon in Something’s Afoot (HLT), Morales in A Chorus Line (RCT), and Ellyn in Jerry's Girls (CAT). Love to my husband Ken, my BFF Deb, my family, and God who always provides. Special thanks to both the creative and production team for everything, and the cast who has proven being yourself is what makes you, the perfect you!
Ana Lohrmann (Mayzie)
Ana didn't think she'd be back on stage, but here she is doing what she loves! She has outlived her terminal cancer diagnosis by half a year and plans to continue this beautiful adventure for as long as possible. Other roles include a Boylan Sister and Ms. Hannigan in Annie, a Merry Murderous in Chicago, the lead in Snow White and Rapunzel. Ana is grateful to the Miracle Players for taking a chance and putting her in the game one more time. The energy of the stage keeps me feeling alive!
Mayah Lohrmann (Roo)
Mayah (6th grade) is happy to be back on stage with the Miracle Players again! Past roles include the lead in Annie and Oliver, Helen in A Christmas Story, Lucinda in Into the Woods Jr. and other local shows. Mayah is working toward one day being in Broadway. In her free time she enjoys making friends, crafting, and perfecting magic tricks. She'd like to send lots of love to her mom and dad!
Elizabeth Meuse-Cummisky (Kanga)
Liz is pleased to return to the stage after a long break. While this is her first production with the Miracle Players, she has previously worked both onstage and on the production teams for shows with the Glyndon Area Players, Mount Airy Players and Reisterstown Theatre Project. She lives in Catonsville with her husband, Cullen and her son, Jack, who is also a part of Seussical.
Emma Roeder (Wickersham)
Emma is thrilled to be making her St. Gabriel Miracle Players debut! Performing in shows since she was eight years old, her favorite previous roles include “Belle” in Beauty and the Beast and “Sebastian” in The Little Mermaid with DCHS Theatre. She has also performed in multiple productions with Glyndon Area Players, September Song, and Theatre Without Limits over the years. Emma is currently a theatre major at Towson University, and would like to thank her fellow cast and crew, especially Mrs. Deb, for making her feel so welcomed in the community, in addition to her family for their endless support. She hopes you enjoy the show!
Finn Smith (Jojo, Wickersham)
Finn is an 8th grader at St. Agnes Catholic School. He is thrilled to be in his 5th production with the Miracle Players including: The King and I, Music Man, Christmas Story, and Oliver. He started theatre in the 4th grade and has done 8 shows since then. He has 5 siblings and loves to play, sing, and dance with them. He also loves basketball, Harry Potter, Musicals (Hamilton), and basketball. He is thrilled to be a part of this production.
Charlotte Thiessen (JoJo/Wickersham)
Charlotte is a 7th grader at the Cambridge School and is super excited to perform the role of JoJo and also share the stage with her sister Heidi. Some of her favorite roles include Sally Brown in You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown (Artistic Synergy), Young Fiona in Shrek the Musical, Molly in Annie, and Esther Jane in Christmas Story (Charm City Players). Charlotte studies all styles of dance at Karen Sachs Dance Academy. She also is an avid guitarist! She would like to thank the artistic and production staff for this opportunity, as well as her family for believing in her and always cheering her on!
Heidi Thiessen (Mayzie/Dance Captain)
Heidi is a junior in the music program studying voice at Baltimore School for the Arts. She was most recently seen as Miss Dorothy in Thoroughly Modern Millie (Children’s Playhouse of Maryland). Favorite roles include Dorothy in Wizard of Oz (Charm City Players), Sleeping Beauty in Sleeping Beauty (Children’s Theatre of Annapolis), Hope Harcourt in Anything Goes! (Children’s Playhouse of Maryland), Giannetta in L’elisir d’amore (Little Patuxent Opera Institute) and Jerome in South Pacific (Annapolis Opera). Heidi performed with the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra in Home for the Holidays. This past summer, she attended the Young Artists Vocal Program at the Boston University Tanglewood Institute. She would like to thank the artistic and production staff for all their work and encouragement, as well as the opportunity to play Mayzi and share the stage with her sister Charlotte. As always, she sends much love to her parents, siblings, grandparents, and teachers for their constant support.
Heidi Toll (Costumer, Props)
Heidi is usually on stage but this time she is just doing Costumes & Props. (this way she doesn’t have to be at rehearsal every night!) She loves the creativity of finding costumes for the different characters and figuring out how to make the props. She is inspired by Amanda Gunther, who always dresses in character, and is aided and abetted by Julianne DeMarco. She played Mrs. Sowerberry and the Milkmaid in Oliver here in May, and in the spring she will be directing The Sound of Music for Miracle Players. Watch for auditions in early January. This Is the Day that the Lord has made, let us be glad and rejoice in it. (Psalm 118)
Emily Wilder (Thing 2)
Emily is a 5TH grade student at St. Agnes School. This is her first ever production and she is very excited to be a part of this amazing group of people. She would like to thank her teachers Mrs. White, Mr. Baker and Mrs. Williams for encouraging her to sing and inspiring her love for being on the stage. Emily would like to dedicate this performance to her grandparents, Vicki and John Gentile who also performed on this stage in the 80s, and Sandra Kick who is one of her biggest fans.
Katie White (Choreographer)
Katie is happy to be part of another production with the Miracle Players. She was last seen on the stage as Nancy and the Rose Seller in Oliver! She is also thrilled to be sharing the stage with even more of her wonderfully talented students! When not dancing on stage, or moving set pieces, she teaches 4-8th grade science locally. Many thanks to the cast and amazing production team for making this so much fun! Oh the thinks you can think and the places you’ll go…sit back and relax and enjoy this fun show!
Meghan Williams (Bird Girl)
Meghan is appearing in her 2nd Miracle Players musical. Meghan is ecstatic to be on stage with many incredibly talented people. Meghan is excited to be back on stage with an amazing cast. Some of her favorite roles include Louisa from The Fantasticks, Tweedle Dee in Alice in Wonderland, Lily St. Regis and Star To Be in Annie, and Silly Girl in Beauty and The Beast. While she is not on stage, Meghan works as a music therapist for Sheppard Pratt Health Systems and provides private voice, piano, and guitar lessons. Meghan would like to thank her family and husband for their support and love. Break legs!
