Support the Community
Donating to charitable nonprofits has two main benefits: supporting the organization's mission and a tax deduction. In addition, strong charitable giving incentives support nonprofits through difficult times.
Community theatre enriches the lives of those who take an active part in it, as well as those in the community who benefit from live theatre productions. On either side of the footlights, those involved represent a diversity of age, culture, life experience, and a strong appreciation of the importance of the arts.
Community theatres involve more participants, present more performances of more productions, and play to more people than any other performing art in the country.
How so? With well over 6,000 community theatres in the United States, each producing 4-6 (or more) productions each year, we believe it’s reasonable to assume that the number of performances by community theatres would far exceed the number of those by professional theatre, dance, and concert organizations.
After all, many areas have just one or two professional companies, but often have twice the number of community theatres—and frequently, more than that. In many areas of the country, especially away from large cities, community theatres provide the only performing arts entertainment - and active participation - for residents. We impact people's lives in many ways, every day.
