Angels in America, Part Two: Perestroika Cast

Alex Birchwale (Prior Walter)
Alex is thrilled to be joining SVPT for Angels in America: Perestroika. Credits: Titanic (Thomas Andrews), Seminar (Martin), This Is Our Youth (Dennis), West Side Story (Tony), Miss Saigon (Chris u/s/Capt. Schultz). In highschool, he studied w/ the Papermill Playhouse Summer Conservatory, and was a music intern for their 2018 New Voices Concert. In his spare time, Alex is a pianist for NYU’s New Studio on Broadway, and a music director/organist for various churches in the New Jersey area. Recent Montclair State University BFA Musical Theatre graduate.
Gabrielle Canci (Harper Pitt)
Gabrielle Canci is a New York City/Staten Island based actress and no stranger to the Sea View Playwright's Theatre stage. Recent SVPT credits include All My Sons, A View from the Bridge, and The Rose Tattoo, and Angels in America, Part One. Gabrielle is excited to return to Angels in America, Part Two, again playing Harper Pitt.
Anthony Casiano (Joe Pitt)
Anthony is very excited to return to the SVPT stage, playing Joe Pitt, after playing the role in Angels in America, Part One in May of this year. Previously, Anthony was seen on the SVPT stage in 2015, in Man of La Mancha. Other show credits include The Man Who Came to Dinner (Ghostlight), Mamma Mia, Beauty and the Beast, 42nd Street, and Gypsy (In The Wings).
Courtney Emerson (The Angel)
Courtney Emerson is a Staten Island based actress, playwright, and visual artist. She has recently appeared on the SVPT stage in A Doll’s House (Christine Linde), Blackout (Patty), All My Sons (Ann Deever), and The Rose Tattoo (Peppina/Bessie). Her production credits include Props Master for SI Shakespearean Theatre Co.’s productions of She Kills Monsters and Romeo and Juliet.
Nick Easton (Louis Ironson)
Nick is thrilled to return to the SVPT stage, once again playing the role of Louis Ironson, after previously playing the part in Angels in America, Part One in May. Other SVPT credits include Louis in A View from the Bridge. Some of his past favorite performances include: Dog Sees God, As You Like It, Romeo and Juliet, The Idiot Box, Saint Joan of the Stockyards, Arms and the Man, and his original show: Reconstructing Reality. Nick has a degree in Dramatic Arts from CSI. He is also a director, dramaturg, and playwright.
Charles Murria (Belize)
Charles Murria is a NYC director, actor and arts administrator. He happy to return to the role of Belize, on the SVPT stage, after playing the part in Angels in America, Part One in May. His last project was assistant director of Good Grief (Ghostlight Players). His most recent acting credits included Castaño in Trouble at Home (CSI), Actor 4 in We are Proud to Present... (SIST), Castaño in Trouble at Home (SIST), Player 2/Pantheno in Two Gentlemen of Verona (SIST), Second Murder in Richard III(SIST). When he is not on stage, he is managing ticket inventories for Manhattan Theatre Club. He is very thankful to work on such an important piece of theatre.
Regina Paleau (Hannah Pitt)
Regina Paleau is a seasoned actress. She studied with Stella Adler, started a theatre company in Paris and has been active in community theatre on Staten Island for 25 years. Her favorite roles have been portrayals of strong women: Kate Keller in All My Sons, the Duchess of York in Richard III, Mrs. Alving in Ghosts, Queen Gertrude in Hamlet and Hecuba in The Trojan Women. But she’s also loved the zany roles in comedies such as Lovers and Other Strangers and Forty Carats. But by far, working on Angels in America has been one of the most interesting and challenging plays she’s ever done. Thank you cast, crew and directors!
Jai Sada (Roy Cohn)
Jai is excited to return to the SVPT stage, once again playing Roy Cohn, after previously playing the part here in Angels in America, Part One, in May. Jai has performed in and around New York, as well as in Europe and nationally in Summer Stock. His favorite roles include, Daddy Warbucks in Annie, Fagin in Oliver!, Judas in Jesus Christ, Superstar, Don Rodrigo in Anadina Saladino’s Trouble At Home, Roy Cohn in Angels in America, Beverly Carlton in The Man Who Came To Dinner,and Bernard in both the stage and film versions of Hate Street (Best Actor-Santa Fe Film Festival.).
