High School Musical Cast

Mark Ellison III (Troy Bolton)
a senior at PHS, is actively involved in PEAC, NHS, Student Government, Interact, and is a School Board Representative. This is his first ever role in a musical and he is pleased to be performing as Troy Bolton. When not in school he loves playing guitar, finding it both relaxing and engaging. He dreams of playing the songs he wrote for a crowd one day. His other future goals include majoring in engineering and opening his own sustainable energy business.
Alyssa Pearson (Gabriella Montez)
a junior at PHS, is actively involved in Student Government as the Historian, as Volleyball Team Leader, and as a member of NHS. She is also a lifeguard and swim teacher. This is her first production at PHS and she is very excited to be playing the role of Gabriella Montez. Alyssa can also play six different instruments and love autumn and pumpkin spice. Her future plans include attending a four year college to pursue a degree in Business Administration and Marketing while also working in real estate.
Christian Toland (Ryan Evans)
a junior at PHS, is actively involved in DECA, Student Government, and serves as a Class Officer. Outside of school Christian works as a Beauty Advisor at Ulta and has organized Arts Bubble 1964 which allows kids to participate in theater for free. Christian has been in many different roles at PHS and beyond including a Cadet in Seussical, himself in Godspell, and Lord Farquad in Shrek. Christian has also held other roles at Steel River Playhouse. Christian is very pleased to play the role of Ryan in this year’s production of High School Musical. Christian is also a huge Paris Hilton and Nicole Richie fan. Christian’s future plans include attending a top tier art school. Shoutout to my loving daddy my beautiful mommy and my very supportive grandmother.
Peyton Benfield (Sharpay Evans)
a junior at PHS, is actively involved in DECA, NHS, Student Advisory Council, Pottstown CARES, Student Government, and Drama Club. She has been a part of many productions at Steel River Playhouse and Center Theatre including: Heathers, The Miser, Midsummer Night’s Dream, You’re a Good Man Charlie Brown, A Charm School Witch, and Spongebob. She has also performed at the Pottstown Youth Theater and with the Arts Bubble in Annie, Starmites, and Chicago. Her previous roles at PHS include Ensemble in The Little Mermaid, a Who in Seussical, herself in Godspell, and a Blind Mouse in Shrek. This year she is excited to fill the role of Sharpay. Peyton’s star sign is Gemini and she is a vegetarian. She plans to attend college after graduation. Peyton would like to give a shoutout to her vocal coach Julie Eurillo.
Jonathan Moser (Chad Danforth)
a junior at PHS, is involved in Jazz Band, Concert Band, Wrestling, and holds a position at Wal-mart. He is pleased to be playing Chad Danforth in High School Musical. Jonathan’s previous roles and shows have included: The Wiz, The Little Mermaid, a Cadet in Seussical, Jon in Godspell, and Donkey in Shrek. Jon plays multiple instruments including drums, guitar, bass, and piano. His future plans include enlisting in the military and continuing a career in automotive.
Josephine Bechtel (Taylor McKessie)
a junior at PHS, is involved in Marching Band, Indoor Color Guard, and Girls Scouts. Her previous roles include a Munchkin in The Wiz, a Sea Creature in The Little Mermaid, a Who in Seussical, Josie in Godspell, Gingy, the Sugar Plum Fairy, and Teen Fiona in Shrek. This year she is pleased to be playing the role of Taylor McKisse in High School Musical. Her other interests include the high school’s ECE program heavily supported by Ms. Rhodes, the greatest teacher. Her future plans include getting a dog and attending college for Early Childhood Education or Performing Arts.
Tyler Broughton (Zeke Baylor)
a junior at PHS, is actively involved in Interact, DECA, NHS, Pottstown CARES, Video Club, and Band. He also serves as one of the Student Board Representatives for the class of 2024. Tyler has held numerous other roles including: John the Baptist in Godspell, Pinocchio in Shrek, Mary Sunshine in Chicago at Centre Theater, and Principal Gowan in Heathers at Steel River Playhouse. As a toddler, Tyler was obsessed with “Superman” and “Superman II” with Christopher Reeves, often rewatching each film for hours on end in his crib. Tyler’s future plans include entering into a four year college for a Business Management & Administration degree with an interest in investing in the nuclear fusion or commercial spaceflight industry down the road.
Ashlee Landis (Martha Cox)
a junior at PHS, is involved in theater and dance in and out of school. Her previous roles and shows include: The Little Mermaid, The Wiz, Oragala in Starmites, Lily in Annie, and MC in Chicago. She is pleased to be playing the role of Martha Cox in High School Musical. When not on the stage Ashlee enjoys her job at Ulta and loves watching movies and delving into other forms of art. Her future plans include going into film studies.
Aiden Kancianic (Jack Scott)
a sophomore at PHS, is involved in the Marching Band, Jazz Band and Choir. He has previously played the role of Monsieur D’Arque in Beauty and the Beast Jr. and a Guard/Knight in Shrek. Aiden is very excited to fill the roles of Jack Scott and a Jock in High School Musical. His other interests include sports statistics and he plans to pursue sports broadcasting. He also says that everyday is a good day!
Natalia Banks (Kelsi Nielsen)
a junior at PHS, enjoys taking part in home art classes. High School Musical is her third production and she is pleased to be playing Kelsi Neilson. Her other roles have included a Who in Seussical and The Ugly Duckling in Shrek. Natalia is also in the dual-enrollment program and enjoys taking classes at Montgomery County Community College along with her high school classes. She plans on continuing college after high school.
Makayla Smith (Ms. Darbus)
a junior at PHS, is actively involved in NHS, Pottstown CARES, Arts Bubble, and Student Government. Her prior roles include playing Little Pig #1 and the Pied Piper in Shrek, Eleanor’s Mother in Starmites, and a Security Guard in Spongebob The Musical . Her other interests include collecting Sanrio collectibles and plushies. Makayla plans to attend college and pursue a career in either law or cirminal justice.
Ethan Yost (Coach Jack Bolton)
a junior at PHS, is actively involved in Tennis, Jazz Band, Marching Band, and HOSA. Ethan’s previous roles include a Munchkin in The Wiz, a Sea Creature in The Little Mermaid, a Cadet in Seussical, and the Big Bad Wolf in Shrek. Ethan is pleased to play the role of Coach Bolton in High School Musical. When not in other activities Ethan enjoys playing guitar. Ethan’s future plans include attending Arcadia University and majoring in biology.
Jaheim Pratt (Alan)
a sophomore at PHS, is involved in Track, Soccer, DECA, NHS, SAC, Pottstown CARES, he serves as the Vice President of PEAC, and as the President of the class of 2025. He is pleased to play Alan the Thespian in High School Musical. His previous roles include Gaston in Beauty and the Beast Jr. , Warbucks in Annie, Walter and Thelonius in Shrek, Beep Beep in Starmites, and Larry the Lobster in Spongebob the Musical. In his spare time Jaheim enjoys helping out at his local Boys and Girls Club. His future plans include attending a four year college.
Mackenzie Hall (Cathy)
a senior at PHS, is involved in Marching Band. She held the previous role of Queen Lillian and a Dancing Rat in Shrek. She is very pleased to play the role of Cathy, a very eager thespian, in this year’s High School Musical. Her other dance experience includes many years of dance. Outside of school she loves working for Ulta and enjoys shopping with her boyfriend, who never rushes her. Her future plans include beauty school to become an esthetician and nail technician.
Nye Powell (James)
a freshman at PHS, is involved in the Engineering Team. His previous production experience includes Lumiere in Beauty and the Beast. Nye enjoys rapping and can rap the first three songs of Hamilton consecutively. His future plans include college.
Bat Endy (Ripper)
a junior at PHS, is actively involved in Marching Band, Jazz Band, Color Guard, and Flute Ensemble. Bat has previously (and currently) been a member of the stage and scenery crew. This year they are excited to take on the role of Ripper in this production. Bat plays multiple different instruments and enjoys learning German in their free time. They plan on pursuing a degree in zoology after high school.
Gabriella Horne (Susan)
a sophomore at PHS, is involved in Band and DECA. Gabby is pleased to be a Thespian in High School Musical. They have previously played the roles of Mama Bear and Dragon in Shrek. Gabby is proud to be the first in their family to take part in the school’s musicals. Gabby plans to major in Hospitality & Tourism and minor in Theater.
Aniyah Wells (Mongo)
a sophomore at PHS, is actively involved with HOSA where she is the Secretary, DECA, Interact, NHS, and is the Secretary of her class, she also tours new students around the high school. This is Aniyah’s first stage role at PHS, but she has previously played an Orphan, Maid, and Governor in Youth Theater’s production of Annie. Aniyah loves Breaking Bad and says she could watch it for the rest of her life. After high school she plans to attend a two year college to become a mortician.
Trevor Marley (Kratnoff)
a sophomore at PHS, is involved in NHS. He is pleased to take to the stage in his very first production on stage as Kratnoff in High School Musical. He was previously involved in musicals as a member of stage crew for Shrek. His future plans include attending college and majoring in engineering.
Ava Alessi (Brainiac)
a freshman at PHS, is involved in DECA and Comic Book Club. Ava has been involved in Chorus for many years and really enjoys singing. This is Ava’s first stage role and she is pleased to play the role of Brainiac in this production. Ava’s future plans include attending an Ivy League college.
Amelia Lepage (Brainiac)
a freshman at PHS, is involved in Indoor Color Guard. This is her first production and she is pleased to be playing a Brainiac.
Makenna Franey (Thespian)
a junior at PHS, is actively involved in Marching Band and DECA. Her previous roles include ensemble in The Little Mermaid, a Who in Seussical, herself in Godspell, a Blind Mouse in Shrek and she is very excited to be playing the part of Performance Art Student. She has been dancing at Premiere Studios since she was 3. Her star signs are Pisces sun, Scorpio rising, and Virgo moon. Her future plans include attending college.
Naden Elgendy (Thespian)
a sophomore at PHS, is involved in the Student Advisory Council, Tour Groups, Upward Bound, DECA, she serves as the Historian in both Interact and for her class. Her previous on stage role was as a Guard in Shrek. Naden will be attending the States DECA competition with 4th place and the highest role play in Business Management and Administration. After high school Naden plans on majoring in business.
Wesam Elgendy (Thespian)
a freshman at PHS, is involved in Interact, Upward Bound, Band, and works as a Hostess. Wesam’s previous roles include Duloc Citizen and Knight in Shrek. Wesam is pleased to take up the role of Performance Art student this year. Wesam also enjoys trying out new food combinations such as fruit roll ups and ice cream. She plans on attending college after high school.
Cianne Wells (Skater)
a freshman at PHS, is involved in PEAC, Interact, Band and Indoor Color Guard. Cianne is pleased to be a Skater in High School Musical. She has previously been a part of the cast for Beauty and the Beast Jr. and Annie. When not in school Cianne enjoys spending time with her cat Romeo and is a Sagittarius. Her future plans include attending community college for creative writing.
Leah Blackwell (Cheerleader)
a freshman at PHS, is involved in Volleyball. Leah is pleased to be a Cheerleader in High School Musical. Her previous roles and shows have included: The Little Mermaid, Seussical, Beauty and the Beast Jr. and a role in Annie. Leah’s friends say that she and her dog, a golden retriever, have the same vibe! Leah’s future plans include college.
Lunna Davila (Cheerleader)
a sophomore at PHS, is involved in NHS, Student Council, Interact, and DECA. This is her first production and she is pleased to be playing the role of a Cheerleader. Spanish is Lunna’s first language. After high school she plans to attend college and major in psychology.
Grayce Morton (Cheerleader)
a junior at PHS, is involved in Lacrosse, Field Hockey, DECA, Student Government, and Pottstown CARES. Grayce is pleased to be a Cheerleader in High School Musical. Her previous roles and shows have included:The Wiz, The Little Mermaid, Marianne in Steel River’s The Miser, and Peasblossom in A Midsummer Night’s Dream. After high school Grayce plans to attend college and major in child psychology.
Tahj Phillips (Cheerleader)
a sophomore at PHS, is actively involved in Cheerleading, Pottstown CARES, Interact, and Track. Her previous production experience includes The Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast Jr., and Shrek. This year she is pleased to be playing a Cheerleader. Her other talents include doing hair, babysitting, and she is teaching herself piano. Her future plans include attending an HBCU to study hair or, possibly, real estate.
