In “Unprotected,” a seemingly small incident among teenagers at a local high school exposes family secrets and cracks beneath the surface. Playwright Jean Koppen was inspired to write the story during the 2016 Presidential campaign. "On social media I saw how the “Access Hollywood'' tapes, and the lack of accountability, triggered PTSD for women, bringing back painful memories of their own experiences and a heightened feeling of vulnerability." “Unprotected ” is a modern-day drama in which a mother struggles to find safety for her daughter in a world in which she feels they are both unprotected.

Pipeline Playwrights is the only theater collaborative in the Washington, DC area dedicated to producing new plays by women and woman-identifying playwrights.
