Between the Lines is the new musical based on the novel by international bestselling author Jodi Picoult & Samantha van Leer, featuring a book by Picoult and Timothy Allen McDonald (Roald Dahl's James and the Giant Peach, The Big One-Oh!) and score by Elyssa Samsel & Kate Anderson (Apple TV+’s “Central Park”).

Between the Lines is an empowering and enchanting story for anyone who has struggled to find their place in the world. An outsider in a new town and a new school, Delilah seeks comfort in the pages of her favorite book, where she feels heard and understood by the handsome Prince Oliver. But as the lines between fantasy and reality begin to blur in extraordinary ways, Delilah realizes her dreams in the real world are worth fighting for.

The PVHS Pawformers are the dedicated performing troupe of Pleasant Valley High School, where students take part in every aspect of production—from lighting design and stage management to acting, choreography, and more. Our students are deeply committed to their craft, and this production is a testament to their hard work and passion.

For this particular show, the students have been in rehearsal for 13 weeks, learning music, choreography, and mastering their roles. This year, we’re excited to introduce digital projections to our repertoire, adding another dynamic element to our performances.

The Pawformers are not only dedicated to their own productions but are also connected to the larger educational theater community. They participate in festivals through the California Educational Theatre Association (CETA) and are proud members of the Educational Theatre Association (EdTA) with an officially chartered Thespian Troupe.
