About Big Fish

Big Fish is the story of fathers, sons, husbands, wives, and the legacy of a life.

When Edward Bloom faces his mortality, his son confronts him with a desire to know the true events of his life. Edward believes he has always told Will the story of his life. But father and son see things differently, and must reconcile their viewpoints, and mend their relationship before it's too late.

"When you tell my story, and I hope somebody does, remember me as something bigger than I was..." - Edward Bloom

Lakewood High School Theatre Company

Founded in the early 2000s, the Lakewood High School Theatre Company is a collaborative group of educators, students, actors, designers, technicians and musicians dedicated to telling engaging stories on the stage. Any member of the LHS Theatre Company may take on various roles during their time with the company. A student may act in one show and design for another.

Since 2002, the LHS Theatre Company has been honored in many ways, from featured performances at the Jefferson County Schools Celebration of Excellence twice, to receiving 37 Denver Center Theatre Company Bobby G Award nominations and winning 10.

In 2018, the LHS Theatre Company was named one of three Outstanding Theatre Schools in the country by the Educational Theatre Association. In 2017, the entire Lakewood High School performing and fine arts department was recognized as an Outstanding Arts School from Think 360 Arts.

The LHS Theatre Company, Thespian Troupe 1697, is a proud member of the Educational Theatre Association. Over the past two decades, that membership has seen student storytellers, striving to be at the top of their craft, honored in various ways.

Through fundraising at their productions since 2009, the company has given thousands of dollars to charities including Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS, Second Wind Foundation, Urban Peak, Ryan's Hope, and Caruso Family Charities.

The LHS Theatre Company is a financially self-sustained program. Your patronage and donations are what help us bring stories to life on stage, and support the dreams and artistic endeavors of hundreds of Lakewood High School students each year.

Thank you!
