Welcome to our annual comedic shorts presentation. This year we have six short plays from all around the world. Join us from January 19 thru the 22. We will take you on a trip with two tortoises as they try to determine who is the better lover in My Darling Tortue. Then we come closer to home as we see if a man doing his best to represent the Darwin award can figure it out in Read the Sign, Florida Man! Next, it is on to the story and Andy and Becca, two young lovers who realize the worst possible thing has happened to them in Seriously, Really Our Parents Are What!? One rainy miserable day two people of completely different backgrounds seek shelter in an upscale store and the class war begins, but not the way you'd expect in Shelter in Comfort. A wicked little black comedy gives us Carleen and Vicki: they are sure they did it, or did they, in That Time Mrs. Mackelhaney Almost Ruined Christmas. We end our evening of laughs with a little therapy. After all, who doesn't need therapy, even the man of steel seems to in Weight of the World?

LAB Theater Project is a non-profit 501(c)3 production company focused on producing new works in the Tampa Bay Community. Our belief in a "playwright first" focus is resolute and a core value of the company. Along with a focus on developing new works, we also focus on training new theater artists to join our growing community. 

We only produce works from emerging playwrights and develop, through education, new artists (Actors, Directors, Stage Managers, and Designers) for the continued growth of live theater artistry. 

We currently produce four new plays per year, often utilizing students in aspects of the production; thereby, giving students the opportunity to put into practice what they have learned while working side by side with established professionals in the community as well as enriching the collaborative creative process of the playwright.

• Build a core of artists who desire a life-long practice of theatrical artistry.
