The Directors

Alex J. Krebs (Choreographer of Peter and the Wolf, Associate Artistic Director of Kinetics Dance Theatre and Kinetics Dance Company) graduated from UMBC in 2013 with a BA in dance and has been a dance educator in Maryland for over a decade. She began working with Kinetics in 2008 as a faculty member, over the years broadening into the roles of Student Company Director, Kinetics Dance Company member, and choreographer. She currently works as Kinetics Dance Theatre’s Associate Artistic Director, Lead Youth Ensemble Director and Associate Company Director, and teaches classes in Modern, Ballet, Improvisation, Contemporary and more. In addition to her work with Kinetics, Alex has distinguished herself as an artist, innovator, collaborator, and educator across a number of notable appointments in the broader field, including as a choreographer, Assistant Company Director and Senior Adjunct Professor of Dance at Howard Community College. Alex has a broad performance resume including work with Baltimore Dance Project, LucidBeings and Masala Soul Project where she performed in various notable showcases and venues such as Artscape, The Annual Maryland Choreographer’s Showcase and a evening-length performance at The Kennedy Center.

Liz Quiñones (Artistic Director of Kinetics Dance Theatre and Kinetics Dance Company) earned a BA in Dance from University of Maryland Baltimore County. Succeeding graduation, Liz taught dance in Anne Arundel County Public Schools. Her teaching extended to other settings like the Regional High School Dance Festival, the Maryland Public High School Dance Showcase, and conferences hosted by the National Dance Education Organization and the Maryland Dance Education Association (MDEA). She performed and choreographed with Full Circle Dance Company, where her works were showcased in events such as the Baltimore Dance Invitational and the Maryland Council for Dance Professional Artist’s Concert. She was recently awarded Dance Teacher of the Year-Private Sector through MDEA. She will be completing her MFA in Dance at Hollins University during the summer of 2021. Liz is currently focusing on the implementation of equitable and inclusive dance practices as the Artistic Director of Kinetics Dance Theatre.
